Началось все, когда 5 симпатичных девушек попали в программу "Making the band 3" (Делаем группу) на канале MTV. Через слезы и разочарования на проекте прошли:

Миллионы телезрителей смотрели реалити-шоу «Making the Band 3 и конечно это обеспечило одноименному альбому "Danity Kane" (Bad Boy Records) занять первое место в The Billboard Top 200 в августе 2006 года. В работе на диском приняли участие такие маститые деятели как вездесущий Timabland, Scott Storch, Bryan Michael Cox и другие. 22 августа 2006, в первый день продаж с полок магазинов в США ушло сразу же 90 000 копий альбома, а за неделю было продано 234,000 пластинок. Спустя почти 2 года группа выпускает 11 марта 2008 года второй альбом "Welcome To The Dollhouse". Трэки сразу вязли штурмом чарты iTunes и первое место в Billboard Top 200 Albums. Ответственность за их создание несут Mario Winans и Danja, написавшие большую часть материала. В гостях Missy Elliott, Rick Ross и конечно Дидди.

Danity Kane was an American R&B and Pop girl group that was signed to Bad Boy Records, first established in 2005. Formed on the third installment of MTV's Making the Band reality television series, the group went on to sell two platinum albums and be widely successful. After numerous conflicts the group officially disbanded in 2009. Each member's termination from Bad Boy was shown on seasons of Making The Band 4. The original lineup included Aundrea Fimbres, Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex, and Wanita "D. Woods" Woodgette.
Their self-titled debut studio album was released in 2006 and achieved success in the United States, shipping a million copies domestically, while spawning two singles with top 10 hit "Show Stopper" and the ballad "Ride for You." The group released their sophomore and final album "Welcome to the Dollhouse", on March 18, 2008, following the release of their second top 10 hit single "Damaged". Both albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. They became the first female group in Billboard's history to consecutively debut albums at #1, placing them in the Guinness Book of World Records.
On January 27, 2009, Richard confirmed to MTV.com in an interview that Danity Kane had indeed split up. The final seasons of Making The Band 4 documented the split. All members ventured off into solo careers with hopes of a reunion in the future.
In August 2013 a teaser campaign was launched via their official website that ended with an announcement about the return of Danity Kane at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. The official announcement was made without D. Woods in the group lineup.
On May 16, 2014, at their first #DKNoFilter tour concert in San Francisco, Aundrea Fimbres announced her departure from the group to focus on her family and the "next chapter of her life".
In August 2014, it was reported that Police were called to investigate a violent outbreak between Aubrey O'Day and Dawn Richard at the recording studio the group were working at the time.
