Flybanger was a Canadian metal
band. Once known as Jar, they released 2 CDs under that name before releasing a 5 track EP titled "Outlived" as well as their major label debut "Headtrip To Nowhere" as Flybanger through Sony Music in 2001. The band has since broken up. The singles released from "Headtrip To Nowhere" were "Cavalry", "Radical" And "Blind World". "Blind World" was also featured on the soundtrack for the major motion picture Dracula 2000 alongside other major acts like Powerman 5000 , Disturbed, Pantera, Slayer and System Of A Down .

In 2005, band members Rob Wade (Drums) and Garth Allen (Vocals) joined Kill Rhythm, a band started by Rob Thiessen formerly of Noise Therapy. In March 2009, following the breakup of Kill Rhythm, both Rob Wade and Garth Allen turned their focus to the Heavy Acoustic Rock project Thick Of It.

As of August 2010, Jar is now back to work and are gearing up for their first reunion show in late October. The band is keeping fans in the look via their Facebook fan page @ http://www.facebook.com/pages/JAR/385980532616 and have, as well, announced the setlist for the upcoming show.

Vancouver based hardrock act Flybanger released 2 independent albums under the bandname Jar in the late 90's,then they renamed to Flybanger and released the EP "Outlived" in 2000. The band signed to Columbia records and their only major album "Headtrip to nowhere" came out in 2001,a solid effort that might not be groundbreaking but they rock hard with vocalist Garth who sounds a bit like David Draiman of Disturbed. We're talking numetal with postgrunge tendencies and the picky one might find a few filler tracks but if we just look at the majority of the album - it rocks! The band was dropped and changed name back to Jarr for yet another EP in 2002 before they split up. .. ..
