Joss Whedon is a writer, director, executive producer, & creator of several television series, most famously Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse. In film he wrote and directed 2005's Serenity, based on his television series Firefly, he co-wrote and produced 2012's The Cabin in the Woods, and wrote and directed 2012's Marvel's The Avengers, the third highest-grossing film of all time. Additionally he has written 2 musicals. One an episode of Buffy, "Once more with feeling" and the other a web release "Dr. Horribles sing-along blog". Many of Whedon's projects, as well as Whedon himself, enjoy a cult status.
He was educated at Winchester College in England and received a film degree from Wesleyan University in 1987.
