The Marshes were a punk band that including Colin Sears (drums), Emil Busi (bass, vocals) and Steven Wardlaw (guitar). Colin Sears best known for playing with Dag Nasty in the mid-1980s to early 1990s formed The Marshes with longtime friend Emil Busi. The Marshes released their first self titled EP on Sike Records in 1995, which got the band signed to Grass Records which was part of major label BMG. However, the person running the company didn't know what to do with the band and they were dropped quickly, with little support behind 1996's Fledgling. The band quickly found a home on Dr. Strange Records and released Pox on the Tracts in 1997, before taking a few years off. They returned in 2000 to release Recluse, which looks to be their final album.
Many of their lyrics on the album Fledgling are based on the fiction of HP Lovecraft, with many overt and subtle references to his mythos.
Colin Sears has since moved on to play in Portland, OR hardcore band Handgun Bravado.
Steven Wardlaw who at one point was in charge of The Misfits newsletter moved on to a new band, The New Harmful.
Emil Busi left the music business for the time being. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
