MC Buzz B real name Sean Braithwaite is a rapper from Manchester, England, rising from the city's vibrant hip-hop/dance scene of the late 80's, alongside other acts such as Kiss AMC and Ruthless Rap Assassins, MC Buzz B dropped his debut 12" called 'Slap Head' b/w 'Hard To The Core' on PlayHard records in 1988. His style was notably less rowdy than his aforementioned counterparts; offering smooth, well-crafted tunes with melody, and an understated subtlety. After touring with Happy Mondays in 1989 he formed his own label called Comfort through Polydor and released a few 12"s plus his debut album 'Words Escape Me'. He was also championed by the legendary BBC DJ John Peel and was asked to perform a live session for his radio show, their appreciation for each other was mutual; noticeably when MC Buzz B paid tribute online to Peel after the DJ's sudden death several years later.
