Zager first hit the US disco chart in 1975 when he assembled the studio project Love Childs Afro-Cuban Blues Band, (later shortened to Afro-Cuban Band). His biggest Hot 100 entry was Let's All Chant (released under the Michael Zager Band name), which hit #36 in 1978 . The song went to #1 on the Hot Disco Music/Club Play chart, along with the track Love Express.
Zager produced the 12-inch Disco single Benihana for porn star Marilyn Chambers, on the Roulette Records label. That single hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1976. To his credit are also compositions and productions for Cissy Houston (1977, 1978, 1979) and Ronnie Dyson (1979).
In 1998 and 2000 Bang Bang, a track originally released in 1975 by the Love Childs Afro-Cuban Blues Band, hit the dance chart twice due to new remixes. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
