Информация о артисте

MLE (Emily Spiller) comes from a family of artists in Victoria BC, Canada. Elvis Presley, Joni Mitchell, Harry Nilsson and Tchaikovsky were the first to grab her ears and seep into her soul while she learned to walk and talk. At an early age, she sang in choirs and played the saxophone and clarinet in school. She fell in love with Jazz; Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker...the list went on.

Emily moved to Vancouver in 1997, where she began writing music, singing and performing with local bands. She found a vocal coach, took a performing workshop, hired a guitar teacher and sang at open mic nights. In 2003, she adopted the moniker MLE, and formed a band of the same name. MLE played many venues in Vancouver including the Centre for Performing Arts where they became semi-finalists on the CBC's "Great Canadian Music Dream" competition, which was broadcast nationwide.

Soon afterward, Emily was offered a contract to sing overseas. She flew to China and spent three months performing with Crush Band. Upon completing her term, she then flew to Australia to sing with Landslide, a touring band, for yet another three months.

Emily returned to Vancouver in January of 2004, where she has been writing her debut album with collaborator and producer Rob Lulic of Rymes With Orange. A soulful voice over a smooth groove of roots - meets - jazzy - blues is what you'll hear spilling out of this West Coast girl.

MLE continues to perform in Vancouver at The Railway Club, Ginger 62, The Backstage Lounge, The Buffalo Room, and The Media Club. She also lends her voice in the studio to many artists, and performs internationally with acclaimed DJ Shawn Ward.
