1. The British Number Nine formed in 1993 and was formed by Paul Ansell, who had previously fronted The Blue Rhythm Boys. They now have eleven albums released. On the rockabilly scene they are highly regarded and they have fans worldwide. Paul’s musical influences are far and wide and his heros can be heard within his music, the music is fresh, it has a vibe, and it is well played, well thought out but most important, original and distinctive. Smokin' country, rockin' blues, that's what this band is really about.
Drawing from the old masters, and playing great songs, they don’t sound like a typical rockabilly outfit. They're different.
2. Number Nine was a punk band formed in Wellington, New Zealand in late 1985 out of second generation punk band Aftershock and the more post-punk The Glass, both of which Kevin Kermack was in. The band were keen to distance themselves from the restrictive punk label and Number Nine's sound contains a wide range of influences.
The band played extensively in Wellington at alternative venues such as the Amrita Vegetarian Restaurant and the Platform 9 Railway Hall as well as more conventional venues like the Clarendon. In early 1987 Number Nine headed to Frontier Studios, recording the 12 tracks that would make up the Nowhere Fast LP released later that year. They also appeared on the compilations When the Wind Blows and Celebrate the Sonic Arts.
3. Number Nine is a Beatles-influenced, melodic pop/rock band from Utrecht, The Netherlands. Formed in 2008, their début album, New Ways came out in 2012.
