The Outsiders(American Band)
The Outsiders was an American rock and roll band from Cleveland, Ohio, that was founded and led by guitarist Tom King. The band is best known for its Top 5 hit "Time Won't Let Me" in early 1966, which peaked at #5 in the US, but the band had three other hit singles in 1966 and released a total of four albums in the mid-1960s.

Allmusic described the act's style: "Part of the secret behind the Outsiders' musical success lay in the group's embellishments [with horns and strings], which slotted in perfectly with their basic three- or four-piece instrumental sound. . . . [H]owever bold and ambitious they got, one never lost the sense of a hard, solid band sound at the core. With Geraci's magnificent singing out front, it was impossible for anyone with an ear for soul not to love how this group sounded, on their album tracks as well as their singles.

The Outsiders (British band)

The Outsiders were an early British punk rock group from Wimbledon, England. Their debut LP, Calling On Youth, was the first self-released punk album in the UK.

Adrian Borland was central to the group, manning vocals and guitar. Bob Lawrence was on bass, and Adrian 'Jan' Janes manned the drums. Their debut LP, Calling On Youth, was self-released on their Raw Edge label in May 1977, and won them unfavourable reviews: "apple-cheeked Ade has a complexion that would turn a Devon milkmaid green with envy", reported the NME.

An EP that November, One To Infinity, was labelled as "Tuneless, gormless, gutless...I like them a lot." by Tony Parsons in the NME, but was praised in a less contradictory manner elsewhere.

It was followed by a second album Close Up in 1979. This received better, but still cautious, reviews from the press;[6] the NME concluded that it was a patchy album, but from "a band with a future."

After this album, Lawrence and Janes left, and Borland went on to front the post-punk group The Sound.

The Outsiders (Dutch band)
The Outsiders were a Dutch band from Amsterdam. Their period of greatest popularity in the Netherlands was from 1965–67, but they released records until 1969. In recent years their legacy has extended beyond the Netherlands, and the group is today recognized as a distinctive progenitors of the garage rock genre. Read more on Last.fm. There are several artists named The Outsiders (13 are mentioned here):

(1) The Outsiders (theoutsiders.eu) were a sixties beat band from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Formed in 1960 as a neighbourhood band from Amsterdam East, The Outsiders became one of the most succesful Dutch groups of the 1960s. They made some lastingly great records and never recorded anyone else's material, with singer Wally Tax writing the lyrics and guitarist Ron Splinter the music for nearly all of the twelve 45s and three LPs they made. Other band members included Appie Rammers on bass, Leendert Busch on drums, Ron Splinter on guitar and Tom Krabbendam also on guitar. They are the subject of an official biography written by Jerome Blanes. For more information see the author's website.

(2) A US band from Ohio. They started in 1959 as Tom King And The Starfires. After the arrival of the Beatles they changed their sound and changed their name to The Outsiders. Signing to Capitol at the beginning of 1966 their first single Time Won't Let Me was a Number 5 pop hit. They scored 3 more Top Thirty hits that year. Singer Sonny Geraci was later in the band Climax.

(3) The Outsiders were an English punk band from Wimbledon led by Adrian Borland(vocals/guitar). They released two albums (Calling on youth 1977, Close UP 1978) before Michael Dudley (drums) and Graham Green joined the band, replacing the original bass player, Bob Lawrence and thus became The Sound.

(4) The Outsiders were an icelandic punk rock band, in icelandic Utangarðsmenn, founded by Bubbi Morthens in the early 80's. They led the new wave movement in Iceland and consisted of guitarists Michael D. Pollock (Mickey Dean) and Daniel Pollock (Dirty Dan), drummer Magnús Stefánsson (mad Dog Magoo), and bassist Rúnar Erlingsson (Rooney the Ripper)
Utangarðsmenn became renown in Iceland by means of extensive press coverage and several gigs, including three at Laugardalshöll, Iceland’s biggest sports arena, where one of the gigs they performed was as supporting band for The Clash.

(5) American Skinhead band - "The details are a blur... the band started around 1997, I (Duck) was writing a lot of music that wasn't fitting in with the band Squiggy I was playing with. My friend at the time was learning drums so it seemed like a perfect combination. I can work out some of these songs I'm writing and she can practice playing the drums. Who knew it would progress. Luckily my buddy Pat who sang for some other local bands Anotherence and The Sick Boys (who I played in to so I knew he would be perfect) was in-between bands and was interested in what we were doing and then THAT cemented our sound and our dedication to making this an actual band.

We went through bass players just trying to find people who would help us out (Don Squiggy, Scott, Sam) but the core band of Pat, Duck and Muffy carried on playing a mix of punk, rockabilly rhythms and Oi!. The sound was really stripped down in the beginning and the recordings we made were rough due to our cashflow. But we played where we could and released music when an opportunity presented itself. Then things started going great when, Gabe from the Oi! Scouts wanted to join on second guitar, because he was into what we were doing and Chris (Ponyboy) was without a band and wanted to start playing bass for us full time. This was all a very awesome combination of music styles and musicians to me and it produced the best material we ever wrote and recorded. The band continued on and created a good following from the punks, skins and rock n rollers! But sadly.. we lost some members, for all sorts of reasons and the band wasn't quite the same to the people who started it so we all sort of parted ways... Gabe joined Squiggy as bass player, I (Duck) started playing second guitar in Squiggy instead of bass, Ponyboy moved on to other bands, Pat stopped singing for a few years, Muffy stopped drumming and then that was it.... I'm still very proud of the tunes we laid down and regret everyday that we didn't get back to the studio ONE LAST TIME because some of the stuff we were playing at the end was AWESOME!.... keep the faith brothers..." DUCK
