Информация о артисте

Prodigal Sunn (born Lamar Ruff) is an American rapper. He is a member of one of the most well-known Wu-Tang Clan affiliate groups Sunz of Man. As well as being a group artist, he has released one solo album - "Return of the Prodigal Sunn". He is also the RZA's cousin. With 12 O'Clock from the Brooklyn Zu, the two rappers formed the duo Two On Da Road.

He was the only child of indigenous parents and grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. During his youth, Prodigal was known as the ‘Sun of Man’ and was later re-christened Prodigal Sunn by his childhood friend Killah Priest in reference to the well known parable in Luke Chapter 15, Verse 32. Along with Hell Razah and 60 Second Assassin, they would form the first group associated with the Wu-Tang Clan known as Sunz of Man. They would go on to release two studio albums, entitled "The Last Shall Be First" and "Saviors Day". In 2006 the group released a greatest hits album entitled "The Old Testament", aswell as an EP, numerous mix tapes and a classic radio single in "Shinin' Star" which featured Earth, Wind & Fire and the Ol' Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan

His first known appearance was on Ol' Dirty Bastard's debut album, "Return To The 36 Chambers (The Dirty Version)", on the track "Protect Ya Neck II The Zoo" along with Brooklyn Zu and a few other members of Sunz of Man

In 2005, he released his long awaited solo debut album, ''Return of the Prodigal Sunn''. Guests on the album include 12 O'Clock, Chi-King, Madame Dee, C.C.F Division, Freemurda, Yung Masta, J. Wells, 60 Second Assassin, Scotty, A&R and Alexsei.

Aswell as his solo album and his Sunz of Man affiliation, he has appeared on various tracks on albums by Allah Real, Bronze Nazareth, Brooklyn Zu, Buddha Monk, Cappadonna, Gravediggaz, Hell Razah, Ice Water, Killarmy, Masta Killa, Mathematics, Royal Fam, RZA, Timbo King, U-God and Wisemen. He even appeared on the track "Chrome Wheels" on the Wu-Tang Clan's fourth album "Iron Flag".

Prodigal Sunn is also an actor, appearing on HBO’s Sex & The City, and he is a co-producer as well as a featured artist along with Jay-Z, Outkast and more in American Rap Stars, the longest running rap documentary ever on cable, now airing on The Movie Channel. Prodigal is currently in production on additional episodes of American Rap Stars. Read more on Last.fm.
