There are several artists under the name of So What:
1. A Japanese hardcore punk/d-beat band from the mid-80s. They played a very noisy style of punk, influenced by bands such as Chaos U.K. and Disorder. Their style is part of a movement in hardcore in Japan in the mid-80s, with bands such as Confuse and THE SWANKYS playing an extremely distorted and noisy style of hardcore/punk.
2. A young 4 piece band from The Hague, The Netherlands, playing pop/rock, consisting of singer/guitarist Bram Wesdorp, guitarist Alexander van den Kleyenberg, bass player Vincent van Heese, and drummer Joeri Gordijn.
Recently they collected $50,000 through SellaBand, making it possible to record their first professional cd with producer Greg Haver in The Modern World Studio's in Tetbury, England. The album is expected to be released in late February 2009. Known songs that will appear on the album are 'Steady Eddy' and 'Keep on Running'. 5. Argentinean band, named So What! or So what project! , which is an integral concept for creating and playing music. So What! is developed by Nicolas Pucci & Rodrigo Bustos and emerges from the Yoga Rave parties - very popular kind of parties in Argentina, without drugs, cigarettes and alcohol.
6. Finnish pop rock cover band from Hollola. Songs mostly by Popeda and Eppu Normaali.
