Supernatural (aka MC Supernatural) is a rapper known mostly for freestyle rapping. Born in Indiana, Supernatural moved to New York City. Through a musical career spanning at least 15 years, he became regarded as a legend in the realm of freestyle emcee battles.

Biography

Supernatural signed with Elektra Records and recorded an album titled "Natural Disasters" in 1995. He reportedly had a dispute with Elektra and was subsequently dropped from the label, leaving Natural Disasters unreleased until 2000, when it saw a limited release.

His freestyle rapping battles with MC Juice and Craig G are highly regarded. The first time Supernatural battled him, Craig G. won over the crowd. Using a line that revealed Supernatural's origin and referenced pop culture ("When you go back home to Indiana, get Mike Tyson out the slammer"), Craig G. delivered Supernatural the first major loss of his career as a freestyle battle rapper.

Supernatural later arranged a rematch with Craig G. The outcome of this competition was inconclusive, due to emotional distress on the part of Craig G, who ended the battle. Supernatural's story and performances are reported in the documentary film "Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme" (Palm Pictures), which contains clips of his and Craig G's battle. The film also contains clips of a notable battle between Supernatural and MC Juice, another popular freestyle rapper who was featured on the Wake Up Show. In this competition, Supernatural defeated MC Juice in two of three freestyle rounds, although, reportedly, there were disputes over the legitimacy of this conclusion.

Supernatural released several singles prior to 1997. He has also released 2 full-length albums, including "Natural Disasters" and "S.P.I.T. (Spiritual Poetry Ignites Thought)" (2005, Up Above Records), which features Raekwon (of the Wu Tang Clan), B-Real (of Cypress Hill), and Chali 2na (of Jurassic 5). A compilation of previously-recorded tracks entitled "The Lost Freestyle Files" was released in 2003.

On August 5, 2006, Supernatural successfully set a new world record for the longest continuous freestyle rap whilst hosting the Rock The Bells festival in San Bernardino, CA. The nine-hour session earned him a place in the Guinness World Records, breaking Canadian rapper D. O.'s record of 8 hours and 45 minutes. On September 12, 2009, Supernatural's record was broken by the Brooklyn-based rapper DJ Green Arrow, whose record of 9 Hours and 57 minutes was set at St. Mark's Church. DJ Green Arrow reported, on the True School Radio show, that Supernatural inspired him to take freestyle rapping seriously. Read more on Last.fm. There are three known artists/bands as 'Supernatural' : Supernatural - MC ; Supernatural - pop band; Supernatural - avant-garde noise duo; Supernatural - Christian rock band from Bogotá (Colombia).

Supernatural (the MC) is known for his incredible freestyle skills, raised from Indiana, and lives today in NYC. His first battles with Juice Crew member Craig G are infamous to his fans, and as seen on 'Freestyle : The Art of Rhyme', Supernat's story and awesome performance has been documented. He has released two albums, The Lost Freestyle Files (March 25, 2003) S.P.I.T. (November 15, 2005).

Supernatural (the Swedish pop group) formed in 2002 on the Television program Popstars. The group split after a short while and doesn't exist today. The boy members Robert Skowronski and Sebastian Zelle later started a new group 2005 called Natural Ex together with some from Excellence. But that didn't last long and these two guys continued to work together and is currently in a dance group with another girl, calling themselves NEXX. During 2008 they had a huge hit in the eastern europe with their first single "Syncronize Lips". In beginning of 2009, NEXX debut album got released.

Supernatural (the avant-garde noise duo) consists of guitar improvisations between Bunsho Nishikawa and Tim Olive. Because of a rather unfortunate incident involving album art, they are often mistakinly refered to as Supernatural Hot Rug and Not Used. In reality, Hot Rug and Not Used is the album name.

Supernatural, the Christian rock band from Bogotá (Colombia) is composed by Jennifer Barreto (voice), Stephanie Ávila (voice), Juan Pablo Molano (acoustic guitar), Lucas Peña (electric guitar), Jeison Cubillos (electric guitar), Javier García (voice), Diego Chávez (bass), Hernán Restrepo (keyboard) and David Bermúdez (drums). Their style can be compared to Hillsong, Big Daddy Weave, FFH, Jars of Clay, with elements of rock, funk and pop.
