Blues Traveler - Closing Down The Park слова песни

Ya know,Theres this park, you see, in new yorkThats what this song is aboutWhere we used to grow upAnd, um, hang aroundAnd then we started moving onAnd started going on the roadWe werent home that muchBut, back then they had this really great ideaWhen we hit townThese parks were prime real estate, you seeAnd if we could keep them nice-lookingWe could charge more rent for the places around townNow, I know you guys have that here around bostonBut, you know, in new yorkThey had this great idea that there had to be a crack-downSo we could sweep the park clean of the undesirable elementsAnd we figured, what could we do? Besides votePerhaps we could tell a songTo youThrough the musical mediumAnd then youll knowSo here we goI really hope soWell, here it is...Rich man smells smoke, he smells something burning greenDoesnt like the odor, better put some badges on the scenePut a blue suit on everybody you see hangin roundAnd if that dont work, were gonna close that park down...But anywayYesterday a man was busted trying to walk his dogCop didnt like his attitude, say that he was against the lawShoot everybody with a mutt this side of the townAnd if that dont work, were gonna close that park down...Preach on, my wounded chandlerYou know when youre walkin through that park one nightWhether your skin is black or whiteAnd you feel that particular pressure on the back of your headAnd the hairs on the back of your neck start to stand upAnd you hear a (police call)Trust those hairsBecause if youre big or burlyOr even short and surlyOr if your cats named shirleyYou could be walkin through that parkAnd meet with the most undesirable disasterCompliments of your taxesIm not saying its gonna happenIm not saying that it will definitely happenBut it could happenBecause it has happenedI mean, it could be youOr you, or you, or you, or youThose guys back thereYeah, that guy, yeah definitelyThose three, easilyYup, youYup, that guyThat guyHimThose guys up thereStinky or scarfaceAnybodyWell, enough of my yackingWhat about your truth and your mothers apple pieI guess its all another part of your grand designing lieShould I tell you something pretty so you dont end my way of lifeOr should I come up from behind with some stolen, bloody, rusty knifeWell maybe I should sit by and watch you kill my friendsAnd maybe I can learn to love you and hope you never endPerhaps I can learn to hate you but I think I already doAll I know for sure right now, its gotta be me or youWhile your uncle rolls his joints with his fifty dollar billIm off in some other park, and Im laughing at you stillLaughing my saggy ass of at you babyCmon tell me all of your storiesTell me about your politicsTell me anythingTell me how you blame your kidsTell me
