Edge Of Sanity - Crimson II слова песни

[I - The forbidden words][II - Incantation][III - Passage of time][IV - The silent threat][V - Archilles heel][VI - Covenant of souls][VII - Face to face][VIII - Disintegration][IX - Aftermath]Let no man breach the gate to this most blasphemous of hallsLest bitterness and chaos be the harvest they wouldst reapHe must n`er become a slave to this Child`s beck and callFor she must never waken from her Crimson Sleep..The monastery stood towering above the ruined cityIt shadowed all the new emerging settlements and homesTo look down on the ruins was to sympathize and pityAll the suffering and heartache, all the graves and broken bonesFor buried there a testament to the evil of a queenA misery that spread across a weak and stricken landThe crimson birth that swamped the earth in dark and deadly dreamsAnd all mankind did bow beneath the power of her handAnd in the monastery garden sat a woman with a bookA manuscript that lay within her frail and trembling armsShe looked around her nervously as guilt rose in her heartBut the sway of curiosity had drawn her out too farShe wavered on the threshold of a dangerous decisionFor this dark tome was no for human eyes to ever readThe pages dripped with legions of persuasive words and visionsSo the volume had been hidden well, but now it had been freedFor no apparent reason had the woman been drawn inPerhaps it was a twist of fate, an absence of real thoughtShe wandered to a room that before she`d never beenAnd all at once the interest of her senses had been caughtFor no apparent reason had the women been drawn inWhere rows of dusty books lay in an ominous displayBut one ancient leather binding had the grain of human skinAnd seized with curiosity she stole this book awayAnd now she sat alone in the concealment of the nightShe was hungry now to liberate the writings from their cageThe glimmer of a feeble moon provided her with lightAs she opened up the cover and began to read the pageFly, soul, the body`s guest,Upon your impish arrantLet none be guiled by false confessionTruth shall be your warrantFly soul for your body must dieBut for those who seek eternityFor those who yearn prosperityFrom this single act of sanityWill raise you far above humanityOh willing host who doth not knowThe full desire of this prisonerYou walk where angels fear to goThou shalt soon embrace the reckonerThy halo of glory, hope`s true gageMay prove to be an evil pilgrimageSomething had happened beyond her controlA moment of madness unfettered a soulThat would relish a freedom denied once beforeBy a desperate nation with it`s back to the wallWithin a split second of reading this textThe spirit was free and had fled from its nestIt was eager to grow from this sudden reprieveAnd thus in the woman a life was conceivedFrom the beginning the world was misledAs a baby was born in a monastery bedThe miracle happening here on this EarthWas perceived as a glorious new Virgin BirthFrom the moment in time that baby was bornThe sun did now rise on a new Crimson dawnAnd the creature just bided its time undiscoveredSo safe in the cradling arms of the mother[Lead: Dan]But for those who seek eternityFor those who yearn prosperityFrom this single act of sanityWill raise you far above humanitySecure from the world, the child remained hiddenA serpent disguised in the Garden of EdenAnd all who looked down on this newly born babeWere ignorant now of the path this would takeThe people were blind to the subtle controlThat was exercised daily upon every soulWith no room to question this delicate lifeAll fears would be drowned and all doubts would be stifledBut one single mind did stand out from the crowdThough quiet at first - with hardly a soundThe Mother Superior harbored suspicionBrought to her heart by three simple vision[The Visions:]The first was a planet engulfed by the seaNo dry land in sight, not a mountain or treeNo rock jutted out from the endless horizonOr flowers to mark out the changing of seasonsNo animals dwelt in the forests or fieldsAll life was extinct; its fate had been sealedBy the curse of a violent unstoppable floodMankind had been drowned in an ocean of bloodThe next revelation was vivid and cruelIt depicted two swordsmen engrossed in a duelThe one held a sword that was silver and pureThe other a sword that was red to the coreThey fought as the sun rose high in the skyTheir fight would not end until one of them diedNo room did they have for an error to makeFor the future of life was the trophy at stakeBut one of the warriors flouted the rulesAnd with cunning and guile had the other one fooledAs he held up his hands in a gesture of peaceThe silver opponent allowed this retreatThen the man with the red sword attacked from behindLeft the silver sword fighter defeated and blindThen carnage ensued that no man could condoneAs the bloody red blade sliced through sinew and boneAll day did the swordsman attack without haltThough the other lay dead from the frenzied assaultUntil by the twilight and all that remainedWere the echoes of death and a fresh crimson stainAnd so came the third of these unyielding visionsA picture of war and ferocious divisionsAn army of saviors marching as oneAware that the end had already begunThey arrived in a field, which was wide and expansiveThey waited in silence both ready and pensiveThe grassland was strewn with small crimson petalsTheir fragrance was sweet with the stench of the devilAnd slowly but surely they fell into sleepTheir consciousness gone as they slumped in defeatAnd there they still lie bereft of their willpowerBrought to their knees by the strength of a flowerThe three visions, the Mother Superior boreA bitter forewarning of what was in storeThis infant so frail must not grow to be strongThe world was at risk if she waited too longSo veiled by the blackness of night she did creepAnd enter where mother and child were both asleepAnd onwards she moved to where the crib layShe leant over the baby and started to prayShe prayed for forgiveness for what she would doShe prayed that the knife in her hand would aim trueBut all of a sudden she was now paralyzedThe baby daughter had opened her eyes[Lead: Mike]And into those eyes, the woman gazedThe look in her face was both haunted and crazedShe was smothered and swamped in confusion and sadnessThe first to be gripped by this foul crimson madnessThis brutal psychosis could not be explainedNo one single cause was suggested or blamedBut no one could think that a child was involvedAnd the mystery illness remained unresolvedSo all seemed as normal for seven short yearsA veil of deception dissolved any fearsBut there was one lapse in the child`s disguiseAnd that could be seen in the depths of her eyesThe message could clearly be discovered thereIn the glimpse of the universe found in her stareHer gaze hypnotic, unbearably strongSuspicions were growing, it wouldn`t be longOh willing host who doth not knowThe full desire of this prisonerYou walk where angels fear to goThou shalt soon embrace the reckonerNow and then a question would be raisedStrong misgivings threatened to be voicedBut these were judgments wiser not to sayTo doubt the child could prove to be a rash and deadly choiceBy now the Crimson reign had proved too muchThe monastery was shadowed under dreadBut fear decreed that hostile thoughts be crushedFor the creature had the power to crawl inside your headThe mother in her darkest moment knewThe time had come for action to be takenA journey must be made to hidden truthsShe must return and read again the book she had forsakenThis tome presented many further viewsEssential rules of power were revealedAnd thus the pages offered up one clueThe child bore one significant Archilles HeelShould the Crimson Queen be blinded, then powerless she`ll beBereft of piercing vision, her victims will be freeSalvation lies in banishing this creature to the darkLet not your hand be hesitant or death will be your markLest regained sight should speed her flight away from burning hellA steady heart must seal her back within her crimson cellAnd thou who didst release this most vindictive enemyMust serve to be her warder there for all eternityOne quiet night the lady traveled out beyond the monasteryHer quest was one of urgency and human preservationShe traveled with companions to reach the ruined cityWhere lay the means to save her kind, a path to their salvationWhen there they searched for evidence of where the Queen once sleptAnd came upon a gateway, which was tightly closed and barredA stark inscription warned them of the risk of their next stepBut choices were no more; they had already come too farLet no man breach the gate to this most blasphemous of hallsLest bitterness and chaos be the harvest they wouldst reapHe must n`er become a slave to this Child`s beck and callFor she must never waken from her Crimson Sleep:[Lead: Mike]With fresh resolve the women carried on towards their goalAnd found themselves a cell where crimson shade were scatteredA sight so dreadful it chilled their very soulsThe cell had long been drained and all around the glass lay shatteredA movement in the shadowsA flash of blazing lightThe child stood before themWith murder in her eyesThe women ran towards herTo try to stem the tideOf purse and crimson angerThere was nowhere left to hideToo slow was their reactionThey were thrown back off their feetTheir throats were filled with panicAs they stared as harsh defeatToo weak was their protectionThey couldn`t staunch the trailOf vitriol and vengeanceMeted out for this betrayalSo the mother`s brave compatriotsConsumed with damning painDied writhing in the dirtThey were bleeding and insaneThey`d looked into the child`s eyesAnd crumbled in despairFrom images too hideousFor human minds to bearSalvation lies in banishingThis creature to the darkLet not your hand be hesitantOr death will be your mark"But there was still one single hopeNo room for fear or doubtThe mother knew there was no choiceShe had to end this nowShe crawled across the bloodstained groundHer eyes averted from the steely glareBut secretly she knew she`d foundA way beyond this nightmare[Lead: Simon/Mike]A few more seconds spanned the pathBetween success or damnationMankind would face the aftermath speedOf this deadly confrontationGot to strike for the eyesLeave the monster running blindGo to cross the lineGot to strike for those unforgiving eyesShe veiled herself with trivial thoughtA mask of insignificanceHer daughter failed to see beyondThe fabric of irrelevanceFor a moment they were face to faceNo sign of what was soon to beBut still her mind refused to breakThose thoughts must not be seenGot to strike for the eyesLeave the monster running blindGo to cross the lineGot to strike for those unforgiving eyes[Lead: Simon]Striking hard, striking fast in desperationThe world around is filled with shades of redForced to stand in weak anticipationAs rivulets of blood run down the Child`s headThe chamber fills with screams of violent rageOf petulance and impotent frustrationConsumed with frenzied tidal waves of hateThe princess falls to earth in dark sedationHer blindness stunts the growth of nascent powerThat grows within her like some poisonous flowerThe blade of darkness strikes her to the hiltAnd so the flower inside begins to wiltBut time is short for action to be takenNo chance to dwell on pity or mistakesNo chance for dark excuses to be foundThe moment of Salvation must be now!Cast me to the crimson flamesThou hast the power should I be blindTo overthrow my wicked reignAnd throw me to the pit of timeCast me to the crimson flamesThou shalt bar the doors of hellIncant these words of sacred ruleSeal me in my crimson cell[Lead: Dan]And thus was read the incantationVoices echoed round and roundThe woman smiled in weak elationMesmerized inside the sounds[Lead: Dan]And with these chants of higher loreSo mortal flesh began to fadeSoon child and mother were no moreTheir earthly bodies now decayedCast me to the crimson flamesThou shalt bar the doors of hellIncant these words of sacred ruleSeal me in my crimson cell[Lead: Mike]And still inside the chamber standsA single cell with crimson hueResealed by spoken word of ManImbued with power from spiritual TruthTwo souls imprisoned for eternityLight and dark forever boundTwo souls that never can be freedA pathway back will not be foundFor trapped beyond some foolish reachAnd far away from prying eyesNo channel now to lead or preachNo chance to influence or guideThe final sacrifice she tookEnsured the hope of the human raceAnd thus she holds the sacred bookA captive in her crimson spaceLest bitterness and chaos be the harvest they wouldst reapFor she must never waken from this Crimson Sleep[Lead: Dan]
