John Denver - Alfie The Christmas Tree слова песни

This song was first released on the a christmas together album. it is the only album it has been released on. it is a poem.Did you ever hear the story of the christmas treeWho just didnt want to change the showHe liked living in the woods and playing with squirrelsHe liked icycles and snowHe liked wolves and eagles and grizzly bearsAnd critters and creatures that crawledWhy bugs were some of his very best friendsSpiders and ants and allNow thats not to say that he ever looked downOn a vision of twinkled lightsOr on mirrored bubbles and peppermint canesAnd a thousand other delightsAnd he often had dreams of tiny reindeerAnd a jolly old man in a sleighFull of toys and presents and wonderful thingsAnd a story of christmas dayOh, alfie believed in christmas alrightHe was full of christmas cheerAll of each and every dayAnd all throughout the yearTo him it was more than a special timeMuch more than a special dayIt was more than a special story, it was more than a beautiful storyIt was a special kind of wayYou see some folks have never heard a jingle bell ringAnd theyve never heard of santa clausTheyve never heard the story of the son of godThat made alfie pauseDid that mean that theyd never know of peace on earthOr the brotherhood of manOr know how to love, or know how to giveIf they cant no one canYou see, life is a very special kind of thingNot just for a chosen fewBut for each and every living, breathing thingNot just me and youSo when youre at christmas prayers this yearAlfie asked me if Id ask youSay a prayer for the wind and the water and the woodAnd those who live there tooWords by john denver
