A slower song that lends itself extremely wellto acoustic. I have transcribed this in standard tuning.Listen to the album to pick up the timing, especially thetricky closing notes. I`ve noted some of the odd chordsat the end of the transcription. The key to the song is the intro and the close. The song is mostly Am throughout, with improvised D7 thrown in.intro: E D (repeat 3x) E/F/Cmod/E E GAmNow, winter wind fades from my faceAmMy heart will no longer raceAmSun smiling down from the skyAm D7Melts away ice from my eyesAmWarmth...eases back to my soulAm * C/B/Am7/G (repeat 3x) EmBitterness shrugs then it goes* This is where the tricky ending starts. The steady beat of the whole song turns into a descending half-rhythm. You probably won`t pick it up without listening to the record.Chords: EADGBe--------------------F x443xxCmod 332xxxB x2001xKeep rocking! ------------------- Winret.txt follows -------------------CRD: j/JUDAS_PRIEST/winter_retreat.crd"WINTER RETREAT" by Judas Priestfrom the album Rocka Rollatranscribed by the Sultan of Suede (jenglish@agrium.com)Part of the "Winter" themed portion of the first Priestalbum.
