[KRS-One]C`mon, gather round now, gather round now, look nowHow many times did you pre-meditatewhat you thought was your fate, cause you couldn`t just waitYou had to have it the way that you thought in your mindBut in the end, everything came in timeBut before the time, you was losin your mindYou was racin and rushin and fallin behindBut let me tell you bout God and the way that She worksI mean the way that He works, I mean the way that We workYou gotta trust in your Lord, everything is in accordDon`t rush or fuss, you gonna get yoursClose your eyes, your heart, your ears, your mindto the ways and thoughts of mankindAnd seek ye first the Kingdom of GodAnd things won`t seem so hardYou gotta trust your Lord, uhh, uhh.. tell `em bout[Chorus]Trust and obey, trust when afraidTrust when you paid, trust when betrayedTrust when you fear, trust when you unclearTrust when you here, trust when you nearTrust when you down, trust when you foundTrust when you clown, trustC`mon, let`s do it again, uh, uhLet`s raise it up, c`mon, look[KRS-One]After you live and you learn then you seeYou will learn how to trust in your G-O-DYou will be so free, you won`t see no meYou will only see the will of the almightyYou sick of what? Well ya will, give it upStop thinkin and begin to, live it upEverytime you think it`s one way it`s notEverytime you wanna start you really stopTrust in the inner the outer is for the sinnersIn fact this whole rap is for beginnersThose that have talked and walked upon the pathKnow that they get what they want before they actSo why rush, if your respect is dueWhatever you DON`T have is protectin youHere`s what you DO have that be bringin the dramaAsk and it shall be given, with a comma[Chorus]{*singers*}You trust in her, trust in him, trust in them, and thenTrust in men, trust in sin, trust in friendsYou trust in her, trust in him, trust in them, and thenTrust in men, trust in sin, trust in friends[KRS-One]Uh uh, soundin good, soundin good, look, lookSo when will you be it, when will you see itThat thoughts and things they manifest when you decree itBut God be lookin out for youPuttin a stop to what you`re about to doIn your life, and in your circumstancesEverytime you speak you be takin chancesTalkin bout things that you really don`t have to haveSo when you get `em, your life turns sadYour life turns bad, now why would your God be allowin that?Trust in God, that`s where the crown is atIt`s not in what you get, it`s what happens after thatSo if you think your life is shrinkinIt may be cause you keep thinkinNot that intellect is wrongIt`s just the beginning, it might be time to move on[Chorus]
