Linkin Park - My DecemberThis file is only for personal use or study.Publication, reproduction, and use in performance questionsshould be sent to the author, contact address below.Artist: Linkin ParkSong: My DecemberAlbum: Select releases of "Hybrid Theory"Released: 2000Contact Me: Zippo8822@aol.comThe song is definitely one of Linkin Park`s best, thoughnot their most popular. There`s no guitar in it save forthe harmonics solo done a few times, but, thankfully, thepiano is easily transcribed to the guitar. I guarantee thecorrectness of this file, so have no worries. Quite a simplesong, so enjoy.- Standard tuning: EADGBE- Number of guitars needed: 1, although I suggest 2- The song can really be broken down into a few simple parts:1. Intro & Verse - Guitar 1, (Clean, no distortion)Repeat this constantly throughout the song.* - Piano transcribed for guitarE|-------------------------------|B|-------------------------------|G|-------------------------------|D|-0-3-2-3-0-3-2-3---3-2-3--3-2-3|A|-----------------3------3------|E|-------------------------------|2. Guitar comes in with a slight harmonics solo during thepre-chorus and intro.- Guitar 2, (Clean, no distortion)E|-------------------------|B|-------16----------------|G|-15-15----14-14-16-------|D|-------------------------|A|-------------------------|E|-------------------------|3. Chorus - Guitar 2, (Clean, no distortion)Guitar 2 plays this while Guitar 1 continues playing Verse.* - Piano transcribed for guitarE|--------------------------|B|1-1-1---1-1-1---3-1-------|G|-----2-0-----2-0---0------|D|--------------------------|A|--------------------------|E|--------------------------|4. Strings Interlude - Guitar 2, (Clean, no distortion)Near the end of the song the keyboard plays this.* - Violin/Keyboard transcribed for guitarE|-------------------|B|-------------------|G|-------------------|D|-------------------|A|--4-5-6-5-0--------|E|------------4-2-1-3|Those are the only parts as you need them. Various effectsmade by keyboards and turntables abound throughout the song.Guitar 2 can replicate these, although they`re not absolutelynecessary.1. Turntables: Use Guitar 2 to scratch the pick againsteither the low E or A strings, or slide on the low frets toreplicate the sound. Frets 4 through 7 capture the sound well.Lyrics:[Guitar 1 comes in with Verse] 0:00[Guitar 2 plays harmonics] 0:10Verse 1: 0:20This is my December...This is my time of the year...This is my December...This is all so clear...This is my December, this is my snow covered home. This is my December, this is me alone.Pre-Chorus: [Guitar 2 plays harmonics various times] 0:58, 1:08 [Guitar 1 continues to play Verse] 0:57And I...(Just wish that I didn`t feel like there was something I`d missed.)And I...(Take back all the things I said to make you feel like that.)And I...(Just wish that I didn`t feel like there was something I`d missed.)And I...(Take back all the things that I said to you.)Chorus: [Guitar 2 plays Chorus] 1:16 [Guitar 1 continues to play Verse] 1:16And I`d give it all away, just to have somewhere to go to.Give it all away, to have someone to come home to.Verse 2: [Guitar 1 plays Verse] 1:36This is my December...These are my snow covered trees...This is me pretending this is all I need...(Pre-Chorus) 1:54(Chorus) 2:13[Guitar 1 plays Verse] 2:33This is my December...This is my time of the year...This is my December...This is all so clear!Bridge: [Guitar 1 plays Verse] 2:52 [Guitar 2 plays Chorus] 2:52Give it all away...Just to have somewhere to go to...Give it all away...To have someone to come home to...Give it all away...Just to have somewhere to go to...Give it all away...To have someone to come home to...[Guitar 1 continues to play Verse] 3:31[Guitar 2 plays turntable effects] 3:33[Guitar 1 continues to play Verse] 3:50[Guitar 2 switches to Strings Interlude, play 5x] 3:51[Fade out all instruments]And that`s it. If you want to arrange the piece for onlyone guitarist, leave out the harmonics, strings, and effects.Play only the chorus part during the chorus and not the verse.I`ll warn you that this song gets repetitive and is one youwon`t be enjoying for a long period of time. I wouldn`tsuggest performing it onstage etc.Questions, comments, death threats, etc. send to me atZippo8822@aol.com
