MC Shan - Back to the Basics слова песни

( *Marley Marl cuts up* )"Come on y`allGet down"It might`ve took a whileBut you knew I had to hit you with a brand new funky rhymeGuess you already know, so I`m ready to goMarlon, hit me with the beat one timeRight now I`m gonna introduce myselfSo y`all know just who I beAll you suckers in the house stay quiet as a mouseInstead of Shan call me Mr. MCI`m goin back to the basicsWhen I was just a young boy, who ever would`ve thoughtI`d grow up to be an MCBut my rhymes are so nice that they paid my priceBecause fortune and fame ain`t freeThese words I`m recitin are written in a styleThat you ain`t heard in a long timeAnd a song like this`ll make a rapper reminisceAbout the days when he was in his primeI ain`t never lost no battles yetWhat made you think I would? How many times does it take, all the rappers I breakAnd you still don`t think I`m goodThis girl in my class tried to move too fastWhen she tried to pull down my zipperWell, things got strange when the whole scene changedAnd I all out tried to strip herTeacher stepped in between, sent me straight to the DeanThat`s where I thought my journey endedCall your moms up to school, are you some fool? And forget about bein suspendedYou went back to the basicsHere`s the story on how I got startedYes, way back in the dayWith my man Infinite, Jazzy [Name], AkimAnd fly girl Roxanne ShantйPeople used to hear that our crew was niceBut rappers just had to be convincedAnd those who walked through 12th Street tried to say a rhymeYou seen or heard from em sinceWe sent em back to the basicsYes yes y`all, it`s like this y`allMC Shan with a brand new twist y`allOne day when me and Marley Marl was playin in a ditchWe made this jam that we knew would slamAnd some day it would make us richMarley Marl had B-36 bass bottomsAnd he cut you up on the spotAnd with my rhymes combined all the papers got signedAnd `The B-B-B-B-Bridge` got droppedWe went back to the basics
