From: eermih@dct.ac.uk "The Spey in Spate", a traditional tune in Scotland.Normally it`s played on a fiddle or banjo etc but it`s nottoo difficult to play on the guitar, if you start slowly.I`ve included chords to be played as an accompaniment by yourfriend: make sure he/she provides a strong rhythm without drowning out the melody.This tune is a 2/4 reel - there are 8 semi-quavers (also known assixteenth notes) per bar (measure). These are marked as dotsunderneath each bar. Bars 9, 11 and 13 start with a pair ofdemi-semi-quavers (thirty-secondths?). The 3 notes in the intro bar(also to be played as part of the last bar if repeating the tune) shouldbe played as a triplet.Hopefully I will post some more traditional Scots/Irish tunes arranged for guitar, if anyone`s interested.
