The Broadways - I Think I Shall Never See слова песни

3000 years ago the world was a giant place.expansive forests untouched landsskies were for the birds, trees were foreverand natures worst invention had yet to form a planbut our population grewand with it grew ambition and desire to conquer all we canown what we cannot, throw the unnecessary awaytoday only 5% of the forests in our country existof what there was just 200 years agoand beautiful feats of nature formedby thousands of years of patient practiceare destroyed without a second thought for "precious" resourcesthat will make the economny growmy grandparents had never seen a plane,a skyscraper, or a motor car or a cellphone or tvmy parents worked so hard to destroy the gifts given to usnow my grandchildren will never see a treesomeday i`ll take a small childdown to the last grass covered hill in my townand say "the whole world was once like this and more"but words and photographs won`t make them understandthe dinosaurs have been around for thousands of moreyears than we could ever hope to beand isn`t it ironic we`re the ones destroying earthinstead of the planet killing mea friend of mine used to deep sea divebut he doesn`t do it anymorehe gets tears in his eyes when you ask him why and says"the ugliest stretch of ocean floor 10 years agois a thousand times more beautiful than the most beautiful today"that was just ten years agoonly ten fuckin` years ago
