Текст песни The Carpenters - Goofus

The Carpenters - Goofus слова песни

I was born on a farm out in IowaA flaming youth I was bound I would fly awayI packed my grip and I grabbed my saxophoneCan`t read notes, but I play anything by earI made up tunes on the sounds that I used to hearWhen I`d start to play folks to say"Sounds a little Goofus to me"(*) Cornfed chords appeal to meI like rustic harmonyHold a note and change the keyHey but that`s "Goofus"Not according to the rulesThat you learn in music schoolsBut the folks just dance like foolsThey sure go for " Goofus"Got a job but I just couldn`t keep it longThe leader said that I played all the music wrongSo I stepped out with an outfit of my own(**) Got together a new kind of orchestraAnd we all played just the same "Goofus" harmonyAnd I must admit we made a hit"Goofus" has been lucky for meRepeat (*)Repeat (**)
