Основателем проекта Bruderschaft является известный нью-йоркский ди-джей Рекс Аркана, рекрутировавший в свою команду Себастьяна Комора из ICON OF COIL (музыка), Йоакима Монтелиуса из COVENANT (электроника), Ронана Харриса из VNV NATION (вокал) и Стефана Грота из APOPTYGMA BERZERK (бэк-вокал и продакшн).
Первым релизом стал CD «Forever»(июль 2003 года), заглавная песня с которого была написана Рексом в память об отце, умершем от рака в 1999 году. Все доходы от продажи пластинки перечисляются в различные организации по борьбе с этой болезнью. Bruderschaft is a futurepop supergroup consisting of DJ Rexx Arkana of FGFC820, Ronan Harris of VNV Nation, Sebastian Komor of Icon of Coil, Stephan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk and Joakim Montelius of Covenant.
The project came into being when Rexx Arkana's father was diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer. After his father's passing, he shared a hand-written poem to his father with Ronan and Joakim. The duo wished to turn the verses into a formal song with all proceeds going directly to cancer research in honor of Arkana's father. The Bruderschaft project lay on the back burner for a few years until the spring of 2002, when most of the members' schedules had cleared. The group's debut release was a two-disc EP titled Forever, which featured the title track in original and edit forms, as well as 24 remixes by various artists, including Feindflug, Front 242, State of the Union and Moonitor.
