STEFY is a pop band from Orange County, California. The group, formerly known as "The Lovely", consists of Stefy Rae (vocals), Jason Gaviati (keyboard), Sean Meyer (guitar) and and Jordan Plosky (drums). Their debut album, The Orange Album, was released by Wind-up Records on August 28, 2006 and in the UK on April 23, 2007.
Stefy Rae receives outstanding feedback from music critics; her "feisty" or "foxy" style is often compared to Gwen Stefani and P!nk.
Although they have established a cult following, the group has not found much wide-stream popularity across the United States, however they have had some success in the UK and charted at number 15 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play.
In 2008, the group was dropped from their label Wind-Up Records. After a 7 month hiatus, their website, which was taken down in September, was re-opened, excluding most of the info and features that relate to Wind-Up.
In May 2009, after over two years of no updates, Stefy released four new demos on their MySpace page. In September, it was revealed by Stefy herself that a second album was not going to happen unless she was signed with another label. Stefy recently released a new song independently that appears in the soundtrack for the film Sorority Row. Read more on Last.fm.
