Информация о артисте

THE POSTMAN SYNDROME is a band from New Jersey, USA. The group started making music in 1996 while the band was still in high school. From the beginning they always had an eclectic musical taste ranging from different bands and genres. The name of the band was inspired by the killing spree of some angry postman workers that occurred in the United States.

They signed with Now Or Never Records in 2001 and in 2002 we saw the release of the band's debut, "Terraforming". The band's sound has been seen as a mixture of alternative metal, jazz, ambient, metalcore and progressive rock and has been compared to bands like System Of A Down, Tool an The Dillinger Escape Plan, although none of the bands or genres mentioned never come close to their actual sound which is highly eclectic. After a series of line-up changes the band broke up before releasing another album.

Members of THE POSTMAN SYNDROME went to create Day Without Dawn which follows the same eclectic style as THE POSTMAN SYNDROME.

The Postman Syndrome changed its name two times: first to Day without Dawn and later to Biclops. Members currently perform in East of the Wall.

The Postman Syndrome was formed in 1996 and have produced a striking album called Terraforming, released in 2002. In describing their sound, others have tossed about names such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Tool, Candiria, and many more -- while there are shades of each of these in the Postman sound, it's a testament to their diversity that it's really hard to nail down what this band is all about. They don't really fit in any one genre (if pressed, one might say metalcore or alternative-metal, as the vocals (provided by four different members) frequently slot into one of those two groups), and their broad, varied songwriting stands them apart from many of their contemporaries. There are elements of metalcore, jazz, ambient, and hardcore to be found, all interwoven to forge a very diverse style. Terraforming is not an immediate listen, and the somewhat fractured songwriting could be tightened up a bit, but this is an impressively crafted debut album.

The Postman Syndrome changed their name to Day Without Dawn in late 2005. Day Without Dawn released a self-titled EP in 2006 and an LP, Understanding Consequences, in 2008. Before recording for Understanding Consequences was complete, the band's line-up changed, and the remaining members continued to play under a new name: Biclops. In late 2009, the Biclops line-up changed once more. The remaining members, some of whom also played in East of the Wall, merged with East of the Wall and continues to play with that name to this day.

In 2010, the members of East of the Wall released an album called God Relieve Our Grief: A Mausoleum Of Stillborn Demos. The album consists of songs written and recorded by The Postman Syndrome from 2003 to 2005. Read more on Last.fm.
