There are at least two artists with the name The Righteous.

The Righteous started out as a five piece punk band in 1995, in Roslagen's shithole Rimbo, one hour drive from Stockholm, under the name Genetic Garbage. After having recorded a demo entitled "Formerly Known as The Boppers", they got invited to play a gig at Smash the Discos in Stockholm (back then the only oi! club in Sweden, where bands such as Clockwork Crew and Dims Rebellion played some of their first gigs, and Agent Bulldogg did one of their last gigs along with Guttersnipe). They later became a quartet and moved into a more oi! oriented sound, and at the same time they changed their name to The Righteous. They played a lot of local gigs with fellow punk acts ( [Sic], Triangular Bush, Nepente, Trapdoor Fucking Exit, Lack of Trust, No Fur, and so on) and bigger Swedish names such as Coca Carola and Refused to name a few. They also did one gig in Copenhagen supporting The Hoolies (later The Outfit) in 2001 before fading away. Robert is now playing in Antipati after having played in Contemptuous between 2003-2005. The other members are not playing music actively.

The Righteous originally from Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands 'The Righteous' started making music at the age of 13 in his attic.
