There are more than one band that use the name 'Boogie Boys'. Two are mentioned below.
I. Boogie Boys - A Polish boogie woogie trio with two fast pianos and percussion.
Boogie Boys - trio is a first Polish piano band performing the boogie-woogie music with a touch of blues of a black origin. An absolutely incredible sound of two pianos snatches the listeners and takes them back to the age of the speedy locomotion and the crazy rhythm of the American reality.
Since its inception dated back to 2002 they visited almost all countries in Europe and some on other continents. In their achievements they have already three studio albums and the concerts they play are great success wherever they go. They toured alongside many stars (as a support or back-up band) such as: Shakin’ Stevens, Ray Manzarek (The Doors), Eric Burdon (The ANIMALS), Chris Barber, Phil Guy, Studebaker John, James Harman, Rod Piazza, Big Bill Morgenfield, The Mofo Party Band, Mike Sanchez, Ana Popovic and many more.
In February 2009 as the only team from outside the United States Boogie Boys were finalists of the greatest blues competition in the world “International Blues Challenge - Memphis, USA”. After this success there came another one: in July 2009 they released album “HEY YOU!” and then during a tour in Canada
they played concerts at major festivals: “Montreal Jazz Festival”, “MontTremblant Blues Festival” and “Quebec City Music Festival”.
In 2010 they played on a tour in California - USA, and in a “Blues TOP” survey they were chosen a „Band of the Year”.The album “Hey You” was qualified to the finals of “Best self-produced album - International Blues Challenge 2010”. Team leader Bart Szopiński and also other group members: Szymon Szopiński and
Michał Cholewiński have repeatedly been awarded in “Twój Blues” magazine poll as “The Pianist of
the Year” and “Instrumentalist of the Year”.
In 2011 they represented Poland at the 1st European Blues Challenge in Berlin and they were qualified to the “Top 3”. They also played at Scandinavian great and famous “Nottoden Blues Festival’.
In 2012, they were once again awarded as “Band of the Year” in “BLUES TOP 2011” survey. Their latest album “Made in Cali” was entirely produced in the USA together with the fantastic guests (such as guitarist Ron Thompson who worked with such stars as John Lee Hooker, Etta James, TinaTurner). Music producer of the album was John Clifton, recognized harmonica player, composer and singer.
In 2013 the album was announced to be “The Album of the Year” in “BLUES TOP 2012” poll. At the beginning of 2014 they are starting nearly two-month tour of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

II. The Boogie Boys - A New York Hip Hop Band of the 80s.
The Boogie Boys originally were Keith Short (Kool Ski) and William Stroman (Boogie Knight). They battled Pernellio and Crew at the popular IS 201 128th and Madison Avenue to get their first record deal with Mike and Dave Records. The song was called "Rappin Aint No Thang" and was mixed live by Crash Crew D.J. Darryl C with three records (Eagles, Johnny The Fox and E.U. Freeze). Following this song (which was #1 locally in NYC) they quickly became Manhattan's top duo performing various clubs including Harlem World, Celebrity Club, Audubon Ballroom, T-Connection, Disco Connection and Ecstacy Garage Disco.
They landed a record deal on Capitol Records with producer Ted Currier who had just produced the monster hit "Atomic Dog" by funk legend George Clinton. Their first single on Capitol "Breakdancer/Zodiac" landed them an album deal. Ted Currier and Kool Ski could not see eye to eye and that left Boogie Knight with an album deal by himself while he was in the Air Force. The album was eventually completed and included the song "Fly Girl". Ted Currier was a well known remixer and had done previous work for WBLS and WKTU. At this point Currier placed Lil Rahiem and Romeo JD into the group. From there he asked HUSH productions to manage Boogie Boys as a favor since HUSH had an excellent relationship with Capitol Records.
Under HUSH Productions, Lil Rahiem and Romeo J.D. took pictures and lip-synced the video "You Ain't Fresh" without the knowledge of Boogie Knight or Currier. The songs "Fly Girl" and "You Ain't Fresh" were so popular that people to this day swear that Rahiem and Romeo are the originators. This group from Harlem entered the scene with "A Fly Girl" in 1985. The song was quite successful, but the group never again hit big. They also put out "Rappin' Ain't No Thang" on Mike & Dave Records. They released their debut album "City Life" in 1985. They followed with the LP "Survival of the Freshest" in 1986. Later on, Romeo produced many tracks for the Freestyle/Disco group Sweet Sensation that featured a lot of drum layering and a Latin influence.
Their last album "Romeo Knight" came out in early 1988.
Sadly William Stroman had just completed a solo project under the name Kid Delight when he passed away in October 2001. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
