Magno is a rapper who started out doing underground appearences, but was first taken notice to when he started doing projects with DJ Michael Watts' Swisha House/Swisha Blast Entertainment record label out of Houston, Texas, a label known for bringing up underground artists to becoming multi-platinum major artists. Swisha House was also the starting point of artists Slim Thug, Mike Jones, Paul Wall & Chamillionaire. He imidietally started working on numerous mixtape projects that the label was releasing, including working on his first solo all flows mixtape entitled Collection Plate. Working with Mike Jones in his earlier time with the label, the 2 artists were paired up to release an album together entitled 1st Round Draft Picks, with noticable tracks such as Day 2 Day Grindin', which featured now platinum recording artist Chamillionaire. Magno eventually left the label and started his own called Wildlife Records, co-owned with his brother deetha Savor. The 1st project for Wildlife Records was a mixtape that was screwed & chopped by DJ Bull of Dirty 3rd Records entitled Mix Show Vol. 1, and their 2nd released screwed & chopped by DJ Luis entitled The Payday Mixtape. But it wasn't until 2004 that the public started recognizing that Magno can be a successful artist without the Swisha House label on his CD covers. He released his most anticipated solo mixtape since is Collection Plate release. The New Print featured all new flows from Magno, and also featured some familiar new sounds out of Texas. Following the success off his 1st solo release under his name label, he then released the continued version of that mixtape, NEWprint 1.7: The Deleted Files which again featured more new and familiar sounds of the south. Magno has been featured on several underground mixtapes and albums with artists such as Chamillionaire, Big Sid, deetha Savor, Mike Jones, DJ Bull & Dirty 3rd Records, DJ Storm, DJ Clue and T-Town Music's Dirty South Rydaz (DSR). Magno has shot some music videos for songs he was featured on, such as Avoiding Tha Fedz with Agonylife and Big Cease, Str8 Off Tha Porch with Big Sid & Lemello, and as recent as a video for his upcoming collaboration album with DJ Rapid Ric's Whut It Dew Family, Pullin' Up featuring Chalie Boy. Magno was also featured in 2 of Yahoo!'s Pepsi Smash Exclusive Mic Pass videos which include features by Lil' Flip, Chamillionaire, Trae, Chingo Bling, Bun B, Short Dawg, Big Hawk, Mike D, Chingy, Slim Thug, Mike Jones, Jamie Kennedy & Stu Stone and Wine-O. At the moment, Magno is still working on his highly anticipated debut solo album Rookie of The Decade, scheduled to be released sometime in 2007. Also working on a collaboration album with Dirty 3rd Records entitled Love It Or Hate It with Chalie Boy & Da Ryno, and an album with DJ Rapid Ric and his Whut It Dew Family, a group which Magno is apart of alongside Chalie Boy, Da Ryno, Mr. Blakes, Gerald G and Black Mike. While these projects are being worked on, look out for the continueous releases of the MAGNOmixes series with DJ Luis. Read more on Last.fm. Various artists act under the name of Magno:
1) (also known as Magnificent) is a rapper who started out working with Mike Jones from the Swishahouse (Houston, Texas). He created underground rap music, releasing a mixtape of freestyles called Magno: The Collection Plate. Magno also released an album with Mike Jones called 1st Round Draft Picks. Magno left Swishahouse following a financial dispute in which Mike Jones demanded at least 80 percent of the profit from the concerts because he felt that he was the more popular rapper. That would have left Magno with twenty percent, an amount that wasn't enough to sustain him financially. Magno felt that they had both contributed equally to 1st Round Draft Picks, and that he was entitled to an equal portion of the profits, but when Mike Jones refused to take anything less than eighty percent Magno opted to leave Swishahouse and form his own label called Wild Life records. He then released a mixtape called Magno: The New Print. Magno is featured on several underground and mixtape albums. Read more on Last.fm.
