West Coast rapper Slow Pain started beatboxing in 1992 with Street Mentality, a gangsta rap group who eventually landed a deal with BMG. Street Mentality, Slow Pain, LiL-V, and Bandit toured with Southern Latin hip-hopsters A Lighter Shade of Brown and A.L.T. throughout 1993, yet their debut recording was only mildly successful. Shortly thereafter, Slow Pain began working with A.L.T., recording the single "Coupe de Ville." This newfound inspiration led to the musical change of adding rapper Kid Frost and incorporating Latin tinges in their gangsta rap sound. The group Three Deep was born -- however, overshadowing tragedy lurked in the background.
Upon striking a deal with Ruthless Records, Three Deep's musical hopes were shattered by the devastating death of fellow West Coast rapper Eazy-E. This misfortune led Slow Pain and A.L.T. to venture off into solo projects. Slow Pain signed with Thump Records in the mid-'90s and recorded The Baby OG, which included the popular cut "Money Maid." New projects surfaced into the new millennium: Slow Pain was working with hardcore rapper 132295Too $hort and shaping a new group with Kid Frost, Mellow Man Ace, A.L.T., and O.G.enius (the Blvd. Knights). His sophomore effort, The Hit List, was released in March 2000. Lil' Don Juan and Presents Old Town Gangsters were both issued the following year. Raider 4 Life appeared in 2003, followed by L.A. Slow Pain was a chicano rapper born in Pico Rivera, CA and later raised in South Central's suburb of Paramount, CA which is located just east of the neighbourhood of Compton, CA, in 1995 Slow Pain released an album off of Ruthless Records called The Baby O.G., Slow Pain is known for his G-funk beats, and mostly raps in English. Slow Pain's style is based on a rough style and this Paramount native is mostly well known for hit songs "Lex's & Hoes", "Wicked Ass Funk", "Bump Dat Ass", "Rollers Only (Latin Rollers)", "All About the Cash Money" and "Ruthless Radio Show Theme" with Dirty Red, Eazy-E, J.V., A.L.T. and Frost. Even though Slow Pain is considered a mainstream West Coast hip hop artists, he often mentions Chicano life on the streets in his lyrics.
