Ребята комбинировали постмодернистскую эстетику с хардкор панк культурой, и за время своего существования выпустили несколько сплитов с командами The Red Scare, Jerome's Dream, Combatwoundedveteran, Encyclopedia Of American Traitors и грайндкор-группой Pig Destroyer, найти которые сейчас уже практически невозможно (все они выпускались на винилах и маленьким тиражом). Из самостоятельных альбомов в активе Orchid имеется одноимённая семидюймовка, 10-дюймовая пластинка "Dance Tonight, Revolution Tomorrow" (вышла на Ebullition Records) и 2 лонгплея "Chaos Is Me" и "Self-Titled", вышедший незадолго до распада группы. "Dance Tonight, Revolution Tomorrow" и "Chaos Is Me" также были выпущены Ebullition Records вместе как один альбом. На вопрос о том, что повлияло на их творчество, музыканты чаще всего называли немецкие команды Systral и Carol, а также французского философа Мишеля Фуко. Участников Orchid сейчас можно встретить в таких музыкальных формациях, как Wolves, Panthers, Ampere, Bucket Full Of Teeth и Transistor Transistor. В 2005 году, через три года после прекращения существования группы, на Clean Plate Records вышел CD "Totality", на котором собраны песни со всех синглов и сплит-релизов Orchid, а также неизданные треки, записанные в ходе работы над "Dance Tonight".
2) Американцы Orchid образовались в Сан-Франциско в 2007 году, с целью возродить старый хэви-метал времен Black Sabbath. Группа состоит из четырёх человек: вокалист Тео, гитарист Марк, басист Никель и ударник Картер. В таком составе коллектив существует по сей день. Сами же участники называют свой стиль "дум-рок".
На протяжении двух лет парни активно репетировали, писали песни и искали лейбл, который бы мог издавать их музыку. В конечном счете, в 2009 году был заключен контракт с немецким лейблом The Church Within Records, а чуть позже записан и издан первый мини-альбом под названием "Through the Devil's Doorway". После этого последовало некоторое количество концертов по Сан-Франциско и близлежащим городам.
После этого Orchid возвращаются домой и начинают работу над полноформатным альбомом. Итогом этого стал дебютник под названием "Capricorn". По словам музыкантов, они добились нужного им звучания в стиле 80-х годов. Выход состоялся 15 февраля 2011 года все на том же The Church Within Records.
С выходом этого альбома парней заметили многочисленные европейские журналы, от которых было получено множество лестных отзывов. В
октябре этого же года состоялся первый тур по Европе. Группа выступила на шестом по счету фестивале Hammer of Doom в Германии. После этого Orchid возвращаются домой и приступают к работе над новым альбомом, который вышел в мае 2013 на Nuclear Blast под названием The Mouths Of Madness
3) Польская инди-поп группа Orchid (a.k.a. orchid_pl) была образована в 2005 году в городе Познань. В настоящее время группа состоит из 5 участников, 3 из которых - девушки. В основном, их музыка основывается на простых гитарных мелодиях и электронике (правда, не очень современной - ребята предпочитают винтаж). В апреле 2007 года orchid_pl записали и выпустили свой первый мини-альбом "takk!soundsampler. В апреле 2009 года группа выпустила свой первый полноформатный альбом "Driving With a Hand Brake On", который доступен для скачивания на их официальном сайте.

Orchid combined a post-modern aesthetic with hardcore punk, releasing several now hard to find splits (with bands including The Red Scare, Jeromes Dream, Combatwoundedveteran, Encyclopedia of American Traitors and the grindcore band Pig Destroyer), a 10” record (Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow! on Ebullition Records) and an LP (Chaos Is Me on Ebullition Records). Orchid’s members more often cite the German bands Systral and Carol as influences, as well as the French philosopher Michel Foucault. Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow! and Chaos Is Me were released together as a single album, also on Ebullition Records. The band’s final release before their break-up was a self-titled album (commonly referred to as Gatefold) on Ebullition Records. Members went on to form the bands Wolves, Panthers, Ampere, Bucket Full of Teeth, and Transistor Transistor. Posthumously, a CD compiling all of their singles and split releases (Totality on Clean Plate Records) was released. The CD also contains compilation tracks and songs from the Dance Tonight… Sessions.
The band was formed while the members were studying at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts in early 1998. Orchid played its last shows in a number of cities during the summer of 2002, the last of which was at the Advocate in Harvard Square in Boston.
The aforementioned Jerome’s Dream split was a one sided 10” in the shape of a skull. It was pressed in red ink, black ink, and glow in the dark black ink, with one band’s songs playing from the inside out and the other from the outside in.
Former band member Will Killingsworth opened his own label called Clean Plate records, which now is producing Orchid shirts again. This is being done due to bootleg shirts going for a lot of money on eBay, and the real shirts going for equal if not more amounts. in other words, this was to get rid of the high prices.
2. ORCHID (SF) hail from San Francisco, California. They began playing live in and around San Francisco in early 2008. Since that time they have shared the stage with such heavies as Pentagram, Earthless, Nachtmystium, Fu Manchu, Astra, Slough Feg, Ludicra, and Hammers of Misfortune.
ORCHID signed with German Doom label The Church Within Records in October of 2009 and released their debut EP Through the Devil’s Doorway in December of that year to much praise and critical acclaim from both European and American press.
A full length LP, Capricorn, was released in February of 2011.

The band is currently composed of 5 band members, where the main force are girls (3 of them). Much of their music focuses on simple guitar-based melodies. It meets the electronics, but not very modern, rather vintage.
In April of 2007 Orchid recorded, produced and released their first EP takk!_soundsampler . This release can be downloaded via jamendo.com..
In April 2009 the band released first LP Driving With a Hand Brake On . The debut album is available via their website.
