Hailing from the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Team Demolition (Team Demo) is becoming a powerful entity in the field of urban music production. Seamlessly melding the ornate B-Boy flavor of the 80s with todays more progressive sounds, Team Demo credits Rap pioneers Slick Rick, Run-D.M.C. and Public Enemy, plus numerous Jazz, Salsa, Rock, Funk and Reggae legends as major influences. This immense diversity is evidenced in their production work with such acts as 50 Cent, Illa Ghee, Obie Trice, Wale, Sha Stimuli, Ax, Lord Digga, Tom Gist (Dipset) and Wais-P just to name a few.
But it all began when Dialtone, Cosell and Wise were bitten by the performance bug and formed a Rap group in grade school. They skillfully fired up house parties and packed community centers as professional DJs. With a steady following, the three teens continued to hone their craft and became robust performers. However in 1991, Wise and Dialtone ventured off without Cosell and established The Lower Life Forms. Despite enthusiasm from two major labels, a suitable recording contract never materialized. Wise and Dialtone patched things up with Cosell and the crew also welcomed Jady Experience to its member roster in 1995. Two years and a few side projects later, Team Demolition issued its kickoff single and video Dirty Gusto." Between 1998 and 2004 , Team Demo released four 12 inch singles and two albums through Depth Charge Recordings while also producing albums and projects by Trickstar, Defined Print, The Black Lung Movement, Zechariah Wise's solo album, and dozens of tracks for numerous other artists. An unconditional passion for the stage, coupled with stable underground and collegiate support, have allowed the fellas to play nearly every club venue in the Washington, DC vicinity as well as tour nationwide.
At present, Team Demo is focused squarely on the production side of the business. "The production end has always been our biggest strength," says the team's quarterback Zechariah Wise. "We have been producing, composing, engineering and mixing music consistently for over 15 years which means we have been involved in thousands of songs. We aren't just beatmakers, we produce the artists we work with." Team Demo has made significant noise in recent months with the release of Illa Ghee's "Bullet and a Bracelet" album; of which they handled the majority of the production; along with an exclusive mixtape entitled, "This is How it Should be Done," featuring just some of the recent production work of the crew.
