Silencer - несуществующий ныне шведский музыкальный проект из Стокгольма, исполнявший атмосферный блэк-метал суицидальной направленности (Depressive Black Metal). Проект был создан усилиями двух музыкантов, выступивших под псевдонимами Nattramn и Leere. Фактически история коллектива началась в 1995 году, однако первая демо-запись, состоявшая из единственной композиции - Death - Pierce Me была выпущена только в 1998-ом.
Демо позволило сформировавшейся группе заполучить контракт с немецким лейблом Prophecy Records, известным своим вниманием к разного рода абсурдным и авангардным проектам. Единственный альбом группы - Death - Pierce Me был записан в 2001 году. Альбом завоевал довольно большую аудиторию сочетанием атмосферных, очень медленных гитарных мелодий, скорее характерных для Dark Ambient, скоростных партий, традиционных для Black Metal, абсурдных текстов с садистскими и суицидальными мотивами и истерического болезненного вокала. Музыка группы оказала влияние на некоторые авангардные проекты, такие, как Shining и GLOOM.
Вскоре после записи альбома вокалист группы Nattramn был помещен в психиатрическую клинику в связи с неврозами и наркозависимостью. На этом этапе история собственно группы Silencer заканчивается. Проходя курс лечения в клинике, музыкант основал новый проект - Diagnose: Lebensgefahr, исполняя музыку в стиле Dark Ambient / Electro Industrial / Noise с абсурдными текстами медицинской направленности.

There are several artists named Silencer:
1) Silencer was a Swedish suicidal black metal band formed in 1995. They released one album Death - Pierce Me before splitting up. The album had a major impact on the Swedish underground scene at the time, and arguably helped certain bands in the scene to form. The band has been the subject of much controversy, mainly because of several allegations made against their vocalist Nattramn, who was supposedly institutionalized shortly after the album was released, thus forcing the band to split up.
On June 1st, 1998, Silencer released a demo of Death - Pierce Me limited to 400 copies. Without a label at the time, the band sent the CDs out themselves. In 2001 they released their first and only album. It has since been re-released by Autopsy Kitchen Records.
There have been many rumours about vocalist Nattramn, most notably that he had cut off his own hands during the recording of the album. This rumour largely stems from pictures of Nattramn in the CD insert holding a pair of pigs trotters in his bandaged hands. In 2001, he was admitted to a psychiatric hospital where he apparently stayed for five years. The overalls he was handed to on arrival have since been given to a competition winner through Nattramn’s website.
2) Silencer is an alias for FMM vs Dylan Rhymes. The main reason for this is that the guy's were ideally looking for an album deal to continue on the huge start made with Acetate. Critical mass came up with a great deal for the album and so the project was signed with them late 2002. The name was changed to give the album artists more of a combined identity rather than two already established artists combining in a one off project.
3) A death metal band from Colorado, US, Silencer formed in 1998 and released several demos and EPs before releasing their first full-lenght album, "Death of Awe", in 2005, followed by "Divisions" in 2009.Is currently active and signed to Mausoleum Records.
4 )20 year old DJ. The genres he covers are grime, hip-hop and RnB. Silencer is also the DJ and a producer for the group Underground Unit. Silencer began to DJ at the tender age of 14.
