There are two artists by this name.
Birgit Schuurman (July 1, 1977, Utrecht, Netherlands) (artist name Birgit) is a Dutch rock singer and actress.
Birgit started singing in her final years of school. In the beginning these were pretty much unknown R&B and dance projects. In 1995 she started singing in the band Jeunes Turcs with her older sister Katja Schuurman. But her real breakthrough wasn't until 2001 with the song 'I know' from her Album Few Like Me.
Birgit Õigemeel (born 24 September 1988 in Estonia) is an Estonian singer. In 2007 she also played the role of Sylvia in the stage play “Two Gentlemen of Verona” (written by William Shakespeare and directed by a well known Estonian director/actor Lembit Peterson) at the Estonian theatre Theatrum.
Birgit is also the first winner of Estonian Idol Eesti otsib superstaari. In 2007, at the Italian culture festival “L’Olivo d’Oro” (Golden Olive) Birgit was the first non-Italian to receive the “golden olive branch” award.
Her first single Kas Tead, Mida Tähendab was released 3 October 2007 and came to be elected by Raadio 2 as the second best single of Estonia that year. The debut album Birgit Õigemeel was released 24 January 2008. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
