История группы Misconduct началась, когда группа парней, живущих в небольшом Шведском городке Kristinehamn решили создать группу, которая будет продолжать принципы и ценности изложенные другими хардкор командами существующих в конце 80х начале 90х годах. В оригинальный состав Misconduct входил: Фредрик "Олло" Олссон (вокал), Мартин "Мор" Роед (гитара), Даниэль Андерссон (бас) и Йонас "JC" Карлссона (ударные). Группа была собрана осенью 95 года, и через несколько месяцев они записали свой первый и единственные демо-диск, под названием «Как в старые времена» ("Like the old days"), который был действительно старой школы хардкора с их собственным звучанием. Демо состоял их семи интенсивных и коротких треков, которые сразу привлекли внимание компании Bad Taste Records.
Первые записи выпущенные на Bad Taste Records, были представлены на сборнике "This is bad taste - the ultimate punk party'', песнями «Недостаток знаний» и «…сегодня» ("Lack of knowledge" and "…of today"). Альбом был выпущен в сентябре 1997 года. Вскоре после выпуска своего дебютного альбома, Misconduct снова отправляется в Европейский тур, Они гастролируют Сентябрь и Октябрь.
В начале 1998 года они записывают 7" под названием «Подписанный в крови» ("Signed in blood") на Speedball студии. Они отправляются в турне по Финляндии с лучшей хардкор командой LKPG's, через несколько месяцев после записи и возвращения из турне «Подписанный в крови» (Signed in blood") был выпущен. Вскоре после выхода «Подписанный в крови» (Signed in blood") группе удалось съездить в ещё один Европейский тур где произошла трагедия и Даниэлю Андерссону (бас) пришлось покинуть группу по личным причинам. После этого Матиас Нильсен был привлечён в группу Misconduct в качестве нового бас гитариста и вскоре после этого группу покидает Мартин "Мор" Роед (гитара). Группе Misconduct нужно было найти нового гитариста и они поговорили со старым другом Матиаса, Фредриком Андерссоном о присоединении к группе. И состав стал таким: Фредрик "Олло" Олссон (вокал), Маттиас Нильсен (бас), Фредрик Андерссон (гитара) и Йонас "JC" Карлссона (ударные).
К этому времени у Misconduct было достаточно песен для записи нового альбома, но они решили убрать их на полку, чтоб сделать новые песни с новыми музыкантами. После нескольких недель тяжёлой работы у Misconduct было написано 19 песен, которые они записали вместе с Mattias (Millencolin) и Miezko (Nasum) в студии Soundlab в декабре 98 года. Bad Taste Records выпустила 16 песен на новом альбоме, получившим название «Новое направление» ("A New Direction") в Феврале следующего года.
После выпуска «Новое направление» ("A New Direction") Misconduct отправляются за океан в Марте – Апреле, чтоб присоединиться к "SnoJam 5" тур по Канаде вместе с Paget Williams и Greenland Crew. Тур проходит с большим успехом, и Misconduct приходится играть на самых больших шоу с такими командами как Satanic Surfers, Anti Flag, Gob, 88 Fingers Louie, AFI, Chixdiggit и т.д. После тура Misconduct должны были присоединиться к группе Madball в Нью–Йорке для совместного 5ти недельного Европейского тура и последующими 2-х недельным туром по Англии, но случилась трагедия. За три недели до тура с Madball Йонас "JC" Карлссона (ударные) покидает группу и Misconduct приходится отменить оба своих предстоящих тура.

В течении примероно 4-х недель группа Misconduct была уже в истории, но о после долгих разговоров Bad Taste и Мариэль убедили Фредрика продолжить борьбу и группа вернулась к жизни. Фредрик поговорил с Мартином Янсоном, который ездил с ними в Polish Pride тур в 98 году, когда в группе был Мартин "Мор" Роед и другие участники. Мартин Янсон был готов к вступлению в группу так как он уже знал все песни. На следующий день они попросили своего старого друга Дэн Нильссон, не хочет ли он стать бас шитаристом группы Misconduct, на что тот охотно согласился. Теперь осталось одна проблема, найти хорошего барабанщика, который был достаточно хорош что заменить J.C., но это было не лёгкой задачей. После долгого неудачного поиска барабанщика, они предложили Хенке Бергстрем из Solquake, стать их временным ударником, пока они не найдут постоянного. В Июне группа Misconduct выступает на крупнейшем Шведском фестивале Hultsfred. Выступление прошло успешно и они решили продолжить играть с Хенке, пока они не найдут барабанщика, который смог бы стать постоянным членом группы.
После лета было принято решение, что группа Misconduct будет одним из хэдлайнеров в BAD TASTE EUROPEAN TOUR '99, проходившим в Октябре – Ноябре. Это было большим делом для группы быть в туре 5-6 недель, но так же и ещё одной проблемой, когда Хенке не мог быть в дали от дома больше чем на 2 недели. Так группа начала искать нового барабанщика. За три недели до тура они нашли то что искали. Новым барабанщиком Misconduct стал Матиас Петтерссон из Charleswood, который играл в нескольких панк, металл и хардкор групп. Было достаточно всего одной репетиции, чтоб понять что Мэтт был подходящим барабанщиком, и у него было достаточно опыта до Misconduct. Разучение 30 песен проходили оставшиеся 3 недели, Мэтту удалось довести группу Misconduct до ещё большего уровня, чем прежде. Ребята были готовы к турне и успех был гарантирован фактически.
После тура они сели в Rose Valley Studios вместе с легендарным "Hard Rock-Toby", для записи 7 новых треков, которые привели к Сплиту с группой Toronto's Trigger Happy. Сплит был выпущен на Bad Taste в Марте 2000 года. После выпуска Сплита, Misconduct захотелось большего, и они подключились к Adhesive и Astream по Boardfest 3 туре по Восточной Канаде с Go Home Productions. Тур был очень успешным для всех групп и новая дружба с Канадскими группами Layaway Plan и Senseless.
После тура Broadfest неметился ещё один Канадский тур с Waterfall и Freedumb Recordz. Тур должен был быть по всей Канаде при поддержке лэйблов Within Reach and Burning Heart's Raised Fist, но по разным причинам тур отменился. Когда небыло туров у группы Misconduct накопилось множество песен, и они отправились в студию TBV в Августе прошлого года вместе с местным героем Леннарт "Леонид" Карлссон. Они сделали большую часть работы не прибегая к цифровым эффектам и использую технику старой записи (old-fashion recording technique). Результатом всего этого стало интенсивные и спонтанные записи за всю историю группы.

They were featured with two songs from the demo, "Lack of knowledge" and "…of today". As well as playing live shows, the next thing the band did was to record their EP "A change". They recorded it in Studio Underground Västerås, December 1996 and the CD was released in February '97. The CD went down well and after the release Misconduct went on a full European tour supporting one of Sweden's biggest hardcore bands - 59 Times The Pain.
Writing new material all the time, it was not long before the band was ready to record their next CD. In July '97 the guys went back to Studio Underground, this time to record their first full length CD "...Another time". The CD was released in September '97. Shortly after the release of their debut album, Misconduct went on another European tour, this time with "Bad Taste" labelmates Intensity. They toured Europe during September and October.
Early 1998 they recorded their 7" "Signed in blood" at Speedball studios. They went on a tour of Finland with LKPG's finest hardcore band "Outlast" a few months after the recording and right after they returned "Signed in blood" was released. After the release of "Signed in blood" they managed to go on another European tour before tragedy struck and Daniel Andersson had to leave the band due to personal reasons. Shortly after that Mattias Nielsen was recruited as Misconduct's new bass player and not long thereafter things didn't work out with Martin Roed and he left the band. Misconduct had to find a new guitarist and they eventually talked to Mattias old friend Fredrik Andersson about joining the and the line-up was once again complete: Fredrik "Ollo" Olsson (Vocals), Mattias Nielsen (Bass), Fredrik Andersson (Guitar) & Jonas "J.C." Carlsson (Drums).
By this time Misconduct had enough songs to record a new album, but instead they trashed most of the songs to make new ones together with the new members. After several weeks of hard work Misconduct had written nineteen songs, which they recorded together with Mattias (Millencolin) and Miezko (Nasum) in Studio Soundlab, December '98. Bad Taste Records released sixteen of the songs on the album "A New Direction" in February the following year.
After the release of "A New Direction" Misconduct went overseas in March/April to join the "SnoJam 5" tour in Canada together with Paget Williams and the Greenland Crew. The tour was a great success and Misconduct got to play some of their greatest shows ever together with bands like Satanic Surfers, Anti Flag, Gob, 88 Fingers Louie, AFI, Chixdiggit etc. After the tour Misconduct was supposed to join New York's Madball for a five week European tour followed by a 2 week U.K. tour on their own, but once again tragedy struck. Three weeks before the tour with Madball Jonas left the band and MISCONDUCT had to cancel both their upcoming tours.

For about four weeks Misconduct was history, but after a lot of talking Bad Taste & Marielle persuaded Fredrik to continue the struggle and bring the band back to life. Fredrik talked to Martin Jansson who went on tour with them on the Polish Pride Tour back in '98 when Martin Roed had other obligations. Martin Jansson was really into joining the band and since he already knew all the songs everything felt completely natural. The next day they asked their old friend Dan Nilsson if he wanted to become Misconduct's new bass-player. Now there was only one more problem - they needed a drummer who was good enough too replace J.C., which was not an easy task. After searching for a new drummer without any luck they brought Henke Bergström from Solquake into the band as a temporary solution and in June the four played together as MISCONDUCT at Sweden's biggest music festival in Hultsfred. The gig went great and the guys decided to continue together with Henke until they found a drummer who could be a permanent member of the band.
After summer it was decided that MISCONDUCT would be one of the headlining acts on the BAD TASTE EUROPEAN TOUR '99 in October/November. It was a great thing for the band to go on the road for 5-6 weeks, but it was also a problem when Henke couldn't be away from home for more than 2 weeks. So once again the guys had to start looking for a new drummer. Three weeks before the tour they found what they had been looking for. Misconduct's new drummer was Mattias Pettersson a guy from Charleswood who had played in several punk, metal & hardcore bands. It took only one rehearsal to see that Matt was the right man for the job, but he had a lot of work in front of him. Learning over 30 songs in three weeks, Matt even managed to bring MISCONDUCT to an even higher level than ever before! They guys were ready for the tour and the success was a fact.
After the tour they entered Rose Valley Studios together with legend "Hard Rock-Toby" to record 7 new tracks which resulted in a split-CD together with Toronto's Trigger Happy. The split was released on Bad Taste in March 2000. After the release of the split MISCONDUCT was hungry for more, so they hooked up with Adhesive and label mates Astream on the Boardfest 3 Tour in Eastern Canada with Go Home Productions. The tour was very successful for all the bands and new friendship with Canadian bands Layaway Plan and Senseless saw the light of day.
After the Boardfest tour another Canadian tour was in the works together with Waterfall & Freedumb Recordz. The tour was supposed to be across Canada together with labelmates Within Reach and Burning Heart's Raised Fist, but for various reasons it was canceled. So when there was no tour and since Misconduct had a lot of new songs they went into TBV studios in August last year together with local hero Lennart "LEONID" Karlsson. They did most of the work by themselves using only an analog 16-channel table, no digital effects and an old-fashion recording technique. The result of all this was the most intense and spontaneous recording ever made by the band.
They've toured all over Scandinavia, Europe and North America with bands like Sick Of It All, Shelter, Satanic Surfers, Slapshot, AFI, Anti Flag, Gob, Chixdiggit and many more. In 2002 alone the band toured Europe, Canada, the UK (twice) and Scandinavia.
In January 2003 Misconduct released their 3 song MCD "New Beginning" on Swedish label Side By Side Records as a preview for their upcoming album. Side By Side also released two VIDEOS from the MCD for "New Beginning" and "Iron Lion Zion".
The summer 2003 Misconduct spent the summer of 2003 on the road touring Europe and Scandinavia sharing the stage with YOUTH OF TODAY, HATEBREED, SICK OF IT ALL, 25 TA LIFE etc... Misconduct's new drummer was Mattias Pettersson a guy from Charleswood who had played in several punk, metal & hardcore bands. It took only one rehearsal to see that Matt was the right man for the job, but he had a lot of work in front of him. Learning over 30 songs in three weeks, Matt even managed to bring MISCONDUCT to an even higher level than ever before! They guys were ready for the tour and the success was a fact.
After the tour they entered Rose Valley Studios together with legend "Hard Rock-Toby" to record 7 new tracks which resulted in a split-CD together with Toronto's Trigger Happy. The split was released on Bad Taste in March 2000. After the release of the split MISCONDUCT was hungry for more, so they hooked up with Adhesive and label mates Astream on the Boardfest 3 Tour in Eastern Canada with Go Home Productions. The tour was very successful for all the bands and new friendship with Canadian bands Layaway Plan and Senseless saw the light of day.
After the Boardfest tour another Canadian tour was in the works together with Waterfall & Freedumb Recordz. The tour was supposed to be across Canada together with labelmates Within Reach and Burning Heart's Raised Fist, but for various reasons it was canceled. So when there was no tour and since Misconduct had a lot of new songs they went into TBV studios in August last year together with local hero Lennart "LEONID" Karlsson. They did most of the work by themselves using only an analog 16-channel table, no digital effects and an old-fashion recording technique. The result of all this was the most intense and spontaneous recording ever made by the band.
They've toured all over Scandinavia, Europe and North America with bands like Sick Of It All, Shelter, Satanic Surfers, Slapshot, AFI, Anti Flag, Gob, Chixdiggit and many more. In 2002 alone the band toured Europe, Canada, the UK (twice) and Scandinavia.
In January 2003 Misconduct released their 3 song MCD "New Beginning" on Swedish label Side By Side Records as a preview for their upcoming album. Side By Side also released two VIDEOS from the MCD for "New Beginning" and "Iron Lion Zion".
The summer 2003 Misconduct spent the summer of 2003 on the road touring Europe and Scandinavia sharing the stage with YOUTH OF TODAY, HATEBREED, SICK OF IT ALL, 25 TA LIFE etc...
