L.G. Wise was born of a 14 year old mother. He was abandoned by his father by the age of 2. With no education and means to support herself or L.G., he was given to his grandmother to be raised.
Feeling rejected by his mother and father, L.G. turned to the streets for parental figures. He was accepted by a notorious drug family, which included Christopher Wallace who went on to become known as the Notorious B.I.G. This drug family became his "mother and father".
By age 11, L.G. Wise was already carrying guns and transporting crack cocaine and marijuana from Brooklyn, NY to North Carolina. At the age of 18, after many juvenile offenses, he was facing 25 years to life at Riker’s Island Penitentiary for various crimes.
It was at his lowest point in life that L.G. Wise cried out to God from a cell block at Riker’s Island. His prayer was, “God, if you get me out of this situation, I will do what you want me to do, say what you want me to say, and go where you want me to go.” God was faithful to answer the prayer of this inmate, and standing before a judge, L.G. Wise was granted time served and was free to go.
