На долю английской Thrash Metal группы Pariah выпало столько испытаний, что трудно подобрать сравнение из истории всей рок-музыки. Тем похвальнее мужество музыкантов, с честью вышедших из всех передряг. Чтобы рассказать об этом, нам придется вернуться в самое начало восьмидесятых, в Ньюкасл, где гитаристы Расс Типпинс (Russ Tippins), Стив Рэмси (Steve Ramsey) и басист Грэм Инглиш (Graeme English) образовали проект под названием SATAN. К 1981 оформился постоянный состав с ударником Энди Ридом (Andy Reed) и вокалистом Тревом Робинсоном (Trev Robinson). Они записали демо из четырех композиций, две из которых были включены в сборник фирмы "Roxcalibur", а остальные вышли в виде сингла "Kiss Of Death", который финансировали сами музыканты.
В ноябре 1981 года SATAN с новым певцом Яном Свифтом (Ian Swift) записали еще одно демо - "Into The Fire". С приходом вокалиста Михаэля Джексона (Michael Jackson) пришлось все начинать сначала. Опять музыканты записали демонстрационную ленту - "Dirt Demo" - и опять она привела к заключению контракта. На этот раз с фирмой "Steamhammer". Компания перезаписала демо и выпустила его в виде миньона "Into The Future", вернувшего группе утраченные было позиции.
В 1987 году вышел полноценный альбом - "Suspended Sentence", и после этого события SATAN переименовали себя, в PARIAH ("Отверженный"), наверное, сетуя на несправедливость судьбы. Первый альбом под этим названием группа записала в 1988 году. Именно этот диск принес коллективу международную известность, а вышедший через год "Blaze Of Obscurity" закрепил успех. Это не совсем трэш, скорее - пауэр-метал с несколькими скоростными моментами, но его материал хорошо задуман и умело сыграны лучшие вещи - это "Retaliate", "Puppet Regime" и "Canary".
Несмотря на оптимистическое развитие событий, из группы ушли основные музыканты - Стив Рэмси и Грэм Инглиш. Они помогают Мартину Уолкиеру (Martin Walkiyer, экс-SABBAT) в проекте SKYCLAD. В 1997 музыканты Pariah опять объединяются и записывают последний альбом «Unity»,после этого Steve Ramsey и Graeme English вернулись в SKYCLAD.

There are a number of artists/bands under the name of Pariah.
1. Pseudonym of London, UK based dubstep/future garage producer Arthur Cayzer who has released a single, Detroit Falls, and an EP, Safehouses on the legendary dance label R&S Records. He has also provided licensed remixes for media darlings The xx and illustrious RnB/Soul vocalists Erykah Badu and Brandy. Cayzer has been gaining vocal supporters such as BBC Radio 1 DJ and electronic music evangelist Mary Anne Hobbs and contributed a mix to her show. Like label mate James Blake, he has garnered praise from influential sources such as Pitchfork and Resident Advisor and is considered one of the central producers in a new wave of British dance music being labelled by some as post-dubstep. 2. Pariah was a British Heavy / Thrash Metal band, one of the side ways of Satan (UK) who changed their name into Blind Fury and later to Pariah in 1987.
Pariah released 2 albums (The Kindred - 1988 and Blaze of Obscurity - 1989) before splitting up in the early 90's.
After the departure of the band, Steve Ramsey (guitar) and Greame English (bass) played in Skyclad.
Pariah reunited in 1997 and released another album (Unity) a year later.

The band broke up when Sims Ellison committed suicide a couple of years after the band's debut CD was released.

Pariah were spawned from the dark years of the mid 90's. The Pariah studio was set up in 1997, after much saving and hard work. They spent the next 12 months getting to know their equipment, enabling them to carve their own sound. The next thing Pariah did was to expand further and start sending out their music. Later on they found themselves working with 'LTJ Bukem'. Pariah were offered a major deal with 'Good Looking' but after much deliberation, decided to turn it down. The reason for this was that the boys thought that they could not justify the offer of such a deal due to the amount of work involved. The Pariah boys still all work full time which does not really leave a lot of time for them to be Dj'ing all over the world and also working on their music at the same time. They also wanted to be able explore different avenues within such a varied genre of music.
7. Early 80s SoCal hardcore, issued by Posh Boy Records. Pariah appeared on the Rodney On The Roq #3 compilation album on Posh Boy in 1982 and on Not So Quiet on the Western Front on Alternative Tentacles in 1983.
