Early punk rock from Fort Lauderdale which is why they are not well known. Otherwise they would be underground legends. Any one who was lucky enough to have seen this band play has not forgotten it.
If you were a new music seeker living in Fort Lauderdale back in 1976 you had a hard time because bands hardley ever played that far south and Miami was nothing short of a ghost town. Kids were sick to death of thier conservative 'cocktailing' parents and even more disgusted with thier own generations music choices (like REO Speedwagon, Kansas and other 'progressive' bands of the day).
Teddy and the Frat Girls were the start of something new and different in a city where people usualy went to die. South Florida was literally ignored by the music press during those early years and that is unfortunate for all of us. We could have had access to some really great music. Let's think of it this way; If Florida were the United States and Miami was LA; Teddy and the Frat Girls would be The Germs. It's that simple.
