Post-rock/Metal band from Distrito Federal, Mexico , that started on 1996 as a Garage Rock band, now totally instrumental. There have been a lot of members, since they've all had side projects.
Now is conformed as it follows: Josue Guijosa (with his side project Kill Aniston), Christian Guijosa (with his side project Hummersqueal°) y Emiliano Sandoval.
Sad Breakfast is a band with a large story going on Mexico's Rock Underground. Originally an emo rock with pretty arrangements and nice lyrics became an instrumental beast with heavy riffs and transitory melodies but in a different air.
The group, led by Josue Guijosa toured around the country under a number of circumstances and with their own resources. The scene was hard on them, so they took a recess a couple years ago, and they came out of hiatus to open for Explosions in the Sky.
After some years without albums, they've put their last effort, a self-titled album, free for grabs via their website, which reflects their current flavor. They've changed so much that if you listen to the first album it's not so related with their current work.
Amongst their influences we can count Pelican, The Melvins and ISIS, and the mix and mastering of their last album was made by Matt Bayles, who has worked with bands such as Mastodon and ISIS.
They've confirmed an european tour, on 2010 april, in which they'll visit the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Italy, France and Portugal.
