* this song originally appeared on GZA/Genius` "Liquid Swords"The Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (3X)Chorus: repeat 2XLife is a test many quest the universeAnd through my research, I felt the joy and the hurtThe first shall be last and the last shall be firstThe basic instructions before leaving earthVerse One:Knowledge this wisdom, this goes back when I was twelveI loved doing right but I was trapped in hellHad mad ideas, sad eyes and tearsYears of fears, but yo my foes couldn`t bearI searched for the truth since my youthAnd went to church since birth, but it wasn`t worth the lootthat I was paying, plus the prayingI didn`t like staying cuz of busy-bodies and dizzy hottiesThat the preacher had souped up with liesHad me cooped up lookin at loot, butt, and thighsDurin the service, he swallowed up the poorAnd after they heard this, they wallowed on the floorBut I ignored, and explored my history that was untoldAnd watched mysteries unfoldAnd dropped a jewel like Solomon, but never followed mencause if you do your brain is more hollow thanSpace oblivia, or the abyssWith no trace of trivia, left with the hissDoes it pay to be deaf, dumb and blind? From a slave we was kept from the mindAnd from the caves he crept from behindAnd what he gave, was the sect of the swineWhen the bible, it condemned the pigI don`t mean to pull your hems or flip your wigsBut we used to wear a turban, but now we`re in the urbanNo more wearing beanies and dress like a genieNo hocus pocus cause I focus on the factsAnd put it on the tracks and brought it through the waxI speak on Jacob, it might take up some timeAnd too much knowledge, it might break up the rhymeI did it anyway just to wake up the mindof those who kiss stones or prays on the carpetThose who sit home, or sell books by the marketNeed to chill and get their mind revivedFor years religion did nothing but divideThe basic instructions before leaving earthChorusVerse Two:I strolled through the books of Job to unfoldAnd open bibles, instead of hoping on revivalsCalling on His name and screaming hallelujahwhen he hardly knew ya, that`s how the devil`s fooled yaSee look into my eyes brethren, that`s the lies of a ReverandWhy should you die to go to heaven? The Earth is already in space, the bible I embraceA difficult task I had to takeI studied till my eyes was swollen, and only arose whenI found out that we were the chosenI deal with the truth, and build with the youthAnd teach my son as he kneels on the stoopSon, life is a pool of sin, corrupted with foolish menand women with wicked minds, who build picket signsto legalize abortion, the evil eye distortionI quiz Son with my wisdomBefore I converted, I was perverted, and knowledge was assertedThe study of wisdom, I perferred itThe understanding, it gave me mental freedomI even learnt Caucasians were really the Tribe of EdamThe white image, of Christ, is really Cesare Borgiaand uhh, the second son of Pope AlexanderThe Sixth of Rome, and once the picture was shownThat`s how the devils tricked my domeI prophesized to save a man, but no one gave a damnfor my nation - the seed of AbrahamBlessed with the tongue of HebrewNow we`re strung on needles, and some are plungin evilsSo study and be wise in these days of darknessPeace to my nephew MarcusThe basic instructions before leaving earthChorus: repeat to fade
