Mark B and Blade - Back in the Day слова песни

[scratching] What do you think of that?Have you anything else to say[Mark B]Yes I remember when rapping was considered just a phaseTrying to search for a deal was like walking through a mazeBack in the daysLabels couldn`t comprehend the missionSo we`ve remained undergroundDisplaying for those who listenYesEveryweek we held a jam entertainers were liveWe had rappers and dj`s performing all through the nightRecords were spun back and forth and the crowds were withitIt was all about the skills no image or gimmicksGraf writers were spraying and dj`s were playingRecords while breakers were breakingOnly my ears were achingCos the music as loud the place to be was the southIt was the same in the north the east and the westHip hoppers were everywhere, many with fearFrom the evidence is clear that our time is near[scratching]I remember it clearly like it was yesterdayIngrained in my mind how they all used to sayIt was nothing more than a fadJust some kids having some funGraffiti on the walls and we`d only begunHouse parties every SaturdayCrews use to gather wearing wetsuits and kangolsTo prove who was the baddestThe centre of the floor was the stage for battlingOccasional fights would break outCos what was happeningwas kids were getting excited when the moves were badtwenty years later and you wish you hadhalf the skill half the knack to build from scratchhalf the will half the knack the thrill to stealwe persisted for. those who missed itbodies for body poppers were robotic and twistedrhymers were gifted crowds were liftedas they witnessed a performance of a lifetime[scratching]I used to hide behind the speakers and rhyme my nuts offCuts were never soft and crowds were going offCompetitions were heldBaggy bags and psychsOrganised the events handed us the mic`sBe an mc merlyn rip stage for stage and never got paidThe feeling was great as we slavedCompetition was none the audience left stunnedI used to rap I used to beat box afraid of noneDj`s were starlight with joel and chrisTony and val and seb and the jams were blissIt was heaven in the making there for the takinSo we took it and ever since been hooked to itLike addicts to cigarettesA combination of decksVocal orchestral effectsThe rhyme connects x2
