1) LEGEND are a great neo/symph-prog band from Britain, driven by the keyboardist's Tony Banks-ish leads in tandem with straight-up metal grooves from the guitarist. This English four-piece band has been together since the late Eighties, making them one of the longest-lived pagan bands around. This band plays rock influenced by folk and classical elements, and prefers complex, epic song structures. All in all though it is an album well worth listening to, although I would advise starting with "Triple Aspect" first for the true taste of LEGEND at their best.

No one would have believed in that balmy late summer of 1988 that 25 years on LEGEND would still be a vibrant and creative part of the British Progressive Rock scene. Indeed the band emerged at a time when interest in all things Prog was very restricted by the blinkers of mainstream media. Yet remarkably LEGEND has stood the test of time and has forged a niche within this currently burgeoning genre. Although not the most prolific of artists LEGEND are poised to release possibly their most imaginative work to date: Spirit.
LEGEND’s diversity of sound and influences has encouraged comparisons to many artists... Jethro Tull, Curved Air, Rush, Clannad, Jefferson Airplane, Nightwish, Loreena McKennitt, Marillion, and Steeleye Span, not to mention, myriad others. In the words of Prog Archives;
LEGEND transcends such genre categorisations such as Neo Prog, Prog-Folk, Heavy Metal etc. They have a unique sound of their own.

Historically the band has suffered the slings and arrows of fortune that befalls any band, and much has been written already of the band’s early success in Japan during the early 1990’s with their first 3 albums receiving growing critical acclaim as LEGEND worked to forge their own style of Progressive Rock. The hiatus from 1998 to 2008 and the ever changing line up of the band. These notwithstanding LEGEND has remained strong and durable and continues to do what they like to do best – make music.
LEGEND’s return began in 2008 as Steve Paine and John Macklin made plans to see if anybody still remembered LEGEND and if there was still enough of a Prog Rock scene to warrant reforming the band. To this end Steve Paine re-mixed and re-mastered songs from the bands first three albums, Light in Extension, Second Sight and Triple Aspect, the result was a CD Anthology Ritual Echo released in 2009. Although only a limited run on CD the album proved to be popular and all was set fair for LEGEND’s return proper with a new album.
So Steve Paine dusted off his plans for Cardinal Points which were originally conceived in the mid 90s and began a re-write and the search was on for the previous band members. In the meantime Steve Paine also resurrected the original masters from the band’s Playing with Fire concert video from 1992. Originally in the hopes of releasing the original footage on DVD but the project proved too costly. So instead in 2010 Playing with Fire was released for the first time on CD.
The start of the new album project was initially hampered by the inability of John and Steve to locate Paul Thomson, despite the internet and social media. So in 2010 with the help of a long time friend and Mr So & So founder Dave Foster on guitar and the band’s original vocalist Kerry Parker they set forth into the Studio – initially at the Queens Hall in Widnes (close to their original home stomping grounds) and later at Steve Paine’s own studio in south Wales and Cardinal Points was born.

The album was released to much critical acclaim in April 2011 receiving several 5 star reviews on ProgArchives , Classic Rock Magazine declared;
‘Fans of epic Prog will not be disappointed‘
whilst Progression Magazine awarded the album 15 out 16 a high acolade indeed!
Plans were immediately laid to record a new project. In the meantime Paul Thomson was found and has returned to the fold so with core of LEGEND re-united all looked very promising.
Steve Paine began writing songs in late 2011 and recording started in earnest in 2012. However LEGEND’s course has never been plain sailing and in late in 2012 with the bulk of the recording completed the band had to bid a very sad farewell to Kerry Parker whose health and increasingly frantic work schedule forced her to retire from LEGEND. Fortunately lady luck quickly smiled upon the band in the form of Beck Sian, an established artist in her own right who was just craving the challenge of fronting a heavy Prog Rock band. Beck’s voice is a real breath of fresh air for LEGEND. Beck’s large vocal range and unique tonal colour definitely adds and exciting new dimension to the band’s sound.

The new album is called Spirit and in company with its immediate predecessor has a theme that links the songs and it maintains the band tradition of an evolving sound with a much harder edge whilst retaining the epic and cinematic quality of their songs. Spirit is nearing completion and is expected anytime from late summer 2013.
Also 2013 will see LEGEND’s return to the live stage with a special one off show in company with long time friend Talis Kimberley to celebrate Greenmantle Magazine’s 20th Anniversary. Furthermore plans are already afoot to arrange many more live dates in 2014.
So long may the myth continue…

3) metalcore группа
In today's metal scene, most bands don't have the backbone needed to exhibit what real heavy music is all about. Detroit, Michigan's LEGEND isn't most bands. The sheer magnitude of LEGEND'S furious sound is so uncompromising and so monstrous you'll be checking under your bed for circle pits before you go to sleep at night. LEGEND are on a path of devastation that will leave the naysayers wishing they hadn't second guessed just how severe this mid-western five piece truly is. Fronted by Chad Ruhlig (ex-For the Fallen Dreams), LEGEND has no qualms calling themselves just what they are; Legendary. Read more on Last.fm. Keyboard player Steve Paine ran the Pagan Media record label and along with live engineer Jon Moreau produced bands such as Incubus Succubus, Mr So & So and The Rattlers among others.

The band reformed in 2010 with Steve Paine and drummer John Macklin bringing in the original singer (pre any album releases), as well as guitarist Dave Foster who had worked with Steve a great deal over the years as he is a founder member of the So & So's. 10) Legend Seven was a Christian hard rock band formed in the early 1990s (formerly with the name Legend) by three former members of Ruscha, another Christian band from the 1980s.

The band made its debut in 1990 under the name "Archon" on a compilation disc released by Heaven's Metal magazine, with a self-produced version of "After The Fall." The song was re-released on the band's self-titled debut album, Legend, in 1991 on Word Records. Shortly after, the band was forced to change its name to Legend Seven upon learning that another band was already using the name Legend. They released Blind Faith in 1993.

Both albums were produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Bubba Smith and garnered several hits on Christian radio ("Carry Me", #4, 1992; "Angela", #2, 1992; "Be Still", #1 for 2 weeks, 1994; "Blind Faith", #1 for 2 weeks, 1994; "First Love", #10, 1994; "Call on Me", #15, 1994).
